DENNIS JACKSON: IMPROVING

Dennis is still in the ICU, but has stablized and his condition is gradually improving. He has made it past the critical-first-48 hours and that brings the liklihood of survival way up there to almost sure certainty, I am so very happy to say. Many of the tubes have been removed, and while I am not sure if he is able to talk, he is able to gently squeeze hands of his family who are all there. Doctors have been able to stop his internal bleeding. Word is the doctors are pleased with his progress, after that motorcycle accident on Friday afternoon at 4 PM, where his injuries were rather severe considering that he was traveling at a slow speed. - Still too early for phone calls, cards etc. - Will keep you posted here. ----Bob Bittner

Ouch! Been in a motorcycle accident myself...doesn't take much to get banged up badly. Best wishes for a complete recovery.

Thank God. That's really good news, Bob. Those first 48 hours after a life threatening illness (or accident) are brutal, both for the patient and the family. (Believe me I know.) It looks like our prayers are being answered. Both Dennis and his family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Let's hope for a speedy recovery.

I also would like to wish Dennis a speedy recovery. Having met him several times at the Hosstraders hamfests in the past, I can say that he is certainly one of the good guys in radio. I understand that he wasn't able to get to the NEARFest last week because of attending his son's graduation from college. Let's hope we will see him at NEARFest II in October!

I have the pleasure of working for Dennis Jackson and this couldn't have happened to a nicer guy! Thanks for posting this about him to get the word out and to get prayers and thoughts. I know they are much appreciated. :) He is one of the good radio guys.........
