He's got a new talk show that starts next Monday. Free-FM in NY is trying him out for a week. Anyone in South Florida going to air him?

Another thought - it's been a few weeks since James-Crystal has made any adjustments to their programming. They're due, don't you think?

Also - I noticed that CC's big stick in Houston is picking up Dennis Miller for nights (replacing a tape delayed Big Eddie).

LOL! That's priceless! ;D

What's more priceless - that MANTALK has an active Myspace site, or that Dennis Miller has a new radio show coming out ?

I actually like Dennis Miller now. I didn't particularly care for him as the 'Weekend Update' anchor on SNL some 20 years ago. I'd listen to his radio show if I lived about 80 miles closer to the station's transmitter !

THE MAJOR

Well, ManTalk having an active MySpace page is priceless, yes ;D

No, what I thought was priceless was Faraway commenting that the station hadn't had a lineup change in a few weeks and was due for one, then otherradioboy pointing out the MySpace link proving Faraway right!

Just goes to show ya: someone's joke may just be ridiculous enough to be someone else's reality.

What's wrong with having a myspace site? They've got over 3,000 "friends." Not bad really....

For radio stations, I find it a more appropriate and more useful marketing tool to build a community for your radio station around your own domain name, not a social networking site.

This is, of course, assuming that the station is able to set up such a web site for itself in a timely manner. Now WMEN isn't guilty of the following, but if a station uses MySpace in lieu of it's own web site (which I've seen some stations do), it's not just priceless, it's pathetic.

Well let's face it. MySpace and YouTube are the K-Mart and WalMart of the web - not that there's anything wrong with that. You can get some pretty good deals at both places. I agree with the honourable Josh C. that radio stations should build their own identity and online community around their own domain name and web site - not particularly 'outsource' it to another company. It's fine to supplement the real thing with a MySpace site, but it should not be utilized in lieu of the real thing.

THE MAJOR - I have no MySpace site. I have the real thing.

P.S. 'The Dennis Miller Show' has its own place on the web at http://www.dennismillerradio.com
