Dennis Miller's New Radio Show to Burlington's WVMT

Wonder what slot--live would mean getting rid of, or moving, Laura Ingraham. Or...1-3 instead of O'Reilly?
3-6 instead of Doyle? Later, instead of Savage (though there would be pre-emptions for Yankee games...)

Let me throw in 2 more cents... this time about Dennis Miller…. (I think that makes a total of 8 cents I have thrown in today) I have listened to The DM Show for about 30 minutes each day since he went on.

First of all it’s about time that this guy gets a radio talk show. My guess is that he has the smarts, talent, and balls to pull it off.

My early impression is he really comes across as a cool guy who can hit below the belt while maintaining the understanding that even though it’s all in fun there’s a point in their. If you’re a lefty - It may be easy to disagree… but it’s hard not to laugh. He and to a lesser degree Glen Beck are hip, sincere and funny enough to transcend the traditional conservative audience. They have broader appeal and are creating a new sub category in talk radio, kind of like hot talk… but a little smarter. It’s to bad that Al Franken was so strident - he really would have been a much better listen had he taken the entertainment first road. (but I digress)

So far I think Dennis Miller gets it. He’s a good listen, and sounds comfortable.

I get a sense that he is taking his radio gig much more seriously then the list of unsuccessful Hollywood types that have proceeded him. David Brenner, Joan Rivers, David Lee Roth etc. these b-lebs did not respect radio enough to break a sweat when they were on the air - and as we all know radio is nothing but content. But Dennis Miller understands the radio form and he also knows that a decent national radio audience beats a great cable audience. Good Luck Dennis… Show ‘em how it’s done!

PS. And Kudos to WVMT… Good get!
