Dennis prager to testify in d.c.

Today, Wednesday 07/16/2019, Author, Columnist and Radio Talk Show Host Dennis Prager will testify on Capitol Hill. At issue is the censoring of Conservative opinion on social media, and specifically for him, the placing of a good number of his 5-minute Prager-U videos on the restricted list on YouTube with pornographic videos. At about 3:30pm he will give a 5-minute opening statement. I hear one of the things he may talk about is the significant differences between Liberals and Leftists, a topic that he returns to on his radio talk show occasionally.

YouTube does not allow any pornography, and I believe you're referring to Mr. Prager complaining that some of his videos are not visible to people using Restricted Mode, which is designed to block children and computers in schools and libraries from being able to watch "potentially adult content":

Mr. Prager -- whose "Prager U" is not an accredited University -- has done numerous videos about topics that are blocked to restricted viewers, including discussion of war and terrorism. In fact, many left-wing liberal commentators share his complaints about YouTube restricting and demonetizing videos about political and social topics. But they're not foolish enough to think they can win in court against YouTube / Google.

Just because someone calls themselves conservative doesn't mean everything they say or do is conservative political speech. Some of these videos break the rules. He knew what the rules were when he signed up with You Tube. The world of user-generated content is similar to the world broadcasters live in every day. Ask Howard Stern why he's no longer on broadcast radio, and it's because the rules were against him and his speech. All it takes is one person to complain, and that opens the door to having your speech curtailed. Same with Mr. Prager. If someone complains to the FCC about what he says on the radio, his company can be fined millions of dollars. If someone complains to his advertisers, he could lose millions of dollars in advertising. It begins when someone complains. It happens with his videos. People complain. You Tube doesn't fine users, but they are subject to being taken down. Just as the things he says on his radio show are subject to fines and bans.
