Denny Radio on 640 GST

Thoughts on Denny Shaffer's 1st day on GST? I thought he did well and sounded good. I really think he will succeed.....but....you would think that GST would have their website updated 1st thing this morning to include Shaffer, but it was not updated until later in the morning, and even then it's doesn't give that much info on him. C'mon GST, do you really want this guy to succeed? Then how about spending some money on promotion and such. You need to let people know that Shaffer exsists, otherwise he will go the way of so many other before him. Please GST, standing behind him is the only way he will have a shot a Boortz and We Suck and Blither.
Also, GST needs to drop the "BravesRadio" and "Tomahawk Traffic" tags now that the Braves are out of it. Go back to NewsRadio until the spring. Sounds even more ridiculous when the Braves aren't playing.

Hilarious---there is absolutely no info on Shaffer at all on the WGST website.

I guess humping the latest lame-ass "Kimmer Komedy CD" is a far bigger priority than promoting their new midday host.

And WGST, thanks for listing Tom "Grumpy" Hughes' favorite restaurants. I don't know how I ever lived before having that valuable information. Great use of bandwidth there.

Anyway, the closest thing they have to actual promotion is a link to something called "DennyRadio.com". On that site, there is a huge headline for an appearance...in Toledo. Not sure what good that does for Atlanta listeners...but there are no Atlanta appearances listed.

Plus there's a banner that reads "Denny Shaffer, 9am-Noon on BravesRadio WGST".

I thought he was on at 8am?

This whole thing is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

Keep knocking em dead, WGST.

The Denny Radio site is in no way affiliated with WGST; Schaffer's had it since his FM days. Nothing much has been done with it since the move to WSPD.

As for the Toledo appearance, that's been on Schaffer's schedule since well before he decided to move to 'GST. Denny used to do several disco parties a year, but has dropped back to about one a year since his first kid was born. Even though he's left Toledo, he decided the party must go on even though he might not be able to come back for it.<P ID="signature">______________

I think he's totally listenable, but I still don't understand how he's more entertaining than homegrown folks like Pete Davis. I cringed yesterday when he said something like how much he's a freak for Jesus. Why not just go back to Glenn Beck? Really, what is the difference?

what a mess, Denny's a small market dude. So many managers, how will Randall have a chance in there?
