This was WRKO's big chance to get listeners and keep them. Todd Fineberg wasn't that bad - it was the first time I've tuned in to his show in months - the Debate getting the energy levels up. So his guest? John DePetro...who immediately attacks David Gergen.

Hello John?? it's about the candidates, not the moderator. A little jealous, DePetro? Gergen would be great 9 AM - Noon on WRKO. He's got my vote - as Deval Patrick has in the WCVB poll, not that he needs it.
Stick a fork in this election, Krhealey's all done, turn her over! already (KRHEALEY is our new name for the screechmeister...Kreeeeehly!)

Django, my little shadow, you've changed the subject from DePetro jealous about Gergen. This thread is not the place to talk about television, though, what the heck -

I'm happy to talk about Pat. He's 85 years old, religiously goes to City Council meetings, has videotaped the City for decades, has run for office - including being a Mayoral candidate - and has neighbors bothering him.
As one girl yelled at one of his attackers "I'd be ashamed to be bothering an 85 year old man." (paraphrased).
She has a point. There are more supporters of Pat than just me; some of the movers and shakers around here believe he's important and adds to the community; people who have things to hide are afraid of his camera. I thought it was great when that young lady and her three friends were all defending him. What kind of world do we live in when people like Django think it is fun to make sport of people 85 years old?

Pat was denied entry to a cable meeting last night. They had a police officer escort him out! He got 3 minutes of videotape! of the event.

Do you know what offended the tv station? He had the audacity to tape the President and Vice President of the TV station fighting with each other in front of a building. Somehow the tape of the two top dogs ended up on the station and aired twice! Can you imagine that? Who do you think did that? I was at the Jethro Tull concert when the fight aired (had my VCR running) so I wasn't at the station when it aired...though truth be told, ahem, I might've had some involvement in transferring the tape to DVD so it could be aired...just let's keep that as our little secret!...ha ha ha! They went mental when it aired! Now that I've got a copy off the tv it perpetually tortures the culprits!

Good for Pat! The world needs more videographers like him! He caught 'em fighting and they banned him from the station. I went before the City Council and gave a full report. One of the city councilors was kind enough to put Pat's show back on the air. As I said to the City Council, here's a man at 85, an age when my grandpa was in the hospital and dying, 85 and still able to videotape. You should be ashamed of yourself, Django, being so cruel to a senior citizen who only wants to videotape parades and gardens. You will probably make fun of him for doing that. Wish both my grandpas were still alive to tape the parade, to be part of the community (one would be about 110 today). We call him Medford's grandpa and it is sinful what the TV station and the neighbors do to him. As the Councilor said, he has a great show, and after the City Council meeting Pat went into his archives and got tremendous footage of the City that no one has. Real video treasures to put on the air. He's got great public access stuff that is beneficial to the city, is excercising his 1st Amendment right, and is being harassed by a certain worm who is trying to kiss the backside of the two fellows from the station who were having a knock down dragout. God bless him for taping the idiots at their best and how dare you change the subject by attacking a senior citizen with your condescending attitude.

When you can't tape executives of a cable TV station yelling at each other in public, and airing it on the PUBLIC cablespace (they seem to forget who the ratepayers are), then our 1st Amendment rights are eroded. This isn't Nazi stuff or naked Playboy (or Playgirl) models. This is an 85 year old man and his camera capturing "executives" being buffoons and getting it aired with a little help from his friends. You know, if WRKO aired stuff like that people might actually listen! to the alleged "Talk station". Isn't it a sin that swastikas and naked girls will get more attention than real, pure 1st Ammendment Rights?

Why does WRKO act like Kerry Healey and try to change the subject from their failed talk show host attacking someone who has a)more credibility b)got the TV gig c)more name recognition?

Wow another name change, now I'm Carberry, last week I was Nik, who was I the week before? Keep fishing. I wasn't making fun of the old guy, simply pointing out a good thing you've done backing that guy up and I for one am really shocked that you're the kind of guy who's a regular at city council meetings, never would have guessed that.
 
You could've said it in a less condescending way - since you've never been one of my supporters.

He's a senior citizen and for 10 years he has always been nice to me - we don't even know each other that well. We've just dropped tapes off at the same station or have seen each other at City Hall during council meetings or whatever. You know, one night I was editing an interview - Mark Farner of Grand Funk or something, and the entire Board of Directors came out of their meeting, put in a tape of Pat, and they all burst out laughing at a senior citizen like a bunch of tenth graders with spitballs being thrown at Mr. Wilson.
The proverbial Dennis The Menace syndrome. Is that fair?

I've reported that behaviour to every politician in town. And you know what Mr. Django, if they did it to you I would stand up for your rights too - even though we disagree. But that's me.
 
What have "Carberry" and "Nik" done for you to feel you have been libeled by being given their identity? Are they on the sex offender list .?Cf. The Boston Herald Again, you tell this board more by what you don't say than by what you do.

As to the discussion of David Gergen by John "I don't live in Massachusets So I can't vote here" DePetro, attacking the moderator is always the last gasp of a dying and failed campaign and the last gasp of dying and failed supporters. Frankly, John DePetro would do better as an athletic supporter. ;)

Hard to believe ANYBODY cares what John De Petro says, why waste your time.
