T&R: "It sounds like you're sniveling to get your job back. I'll do anything."
That's priceless. Then they go on to defend him.
DePetro has damaged himself beyond repair by not looking like a statesman that got a raw deal.
As much as Parenteau's off-the-air shenanigans have destroyed him, Parenteau did take the high
road when Oedipus was blatant about the age discrimination thing. If the memory is correct, Oedipus said
something in Billboard that Mark could've sued over. Mark - instead - went to RKO and to the NY station
and then to XM. He bounced back.
DePetro and two other area "personalities" (please)...didn't pursue legal remedies, but they pissed, moaned and complained.
One has a gig in the hinterlands while another is stuck on weekend duty out of state.
Y'know, if you got a case explore legal options and negotiation and mediation.. If you have talent and a case, explore those options and get your aircheck out to the people you've known over the years who will stand by you during the crisis. But to get on your hands and knees to beg...ha ha ha - something I would never do. Never. Negotiate, sure, but beg?
Real talent will win out. Expect full assault on the messenger, meaning my point of view is 100% correct.
So let's reiterate: John DePetro - do your air check. Send to hinterlands. Get out of dodge. It's over.
