I was in New Hampshire this past week, could someone be kind enough to describe how Johnny D got on the air with Dan Yorke?

The story is somewhere on one of the threads below. Johnny D just took over the mike. Maybe he thought he was auditioning for Kass'slot. Do those of you here who've been in radio a while get how difficult it is nowadays to commit career suicide compared to the past?
