DEPETRO SLAMS BAILEY, WOLFE

>>>WRKO jokes about DePetro firing
Wednesday, November 29

In a stunning new development, Steve Bailey of WRKO is now joking over my firing. Bailey says you "cannot call anybody fat." So the word "fat" is now considered the "f-word". It was never made clear to me which part of "fat lesbian" was the firing offense. Bailey confirms it was the "fat". Boston Globe

Jason Wolfe is a real class act. A father of 3 is fired right before Christmas, without any severance, and Wolfe jokes about it with the Globe. I find that more offensive. Jason Wolfe can be reached at [EDIT]
>>>

geez, all bailey did was put people to sleep today on the air...

[EDIT-inflammatory]

DePetro should be more concerned about the audience that he turned off while he was up here.

A real professional bounces back.

This is the second Entercom employee whining in their beer over getting dismissed.

Their egos are so friggin' huge:

http://depetro.com/

He should act like all other angry ex-radio people and post missives on this board ::)

Look, John DePetro gave those snakes at WRKO exactly what they wanted and they turned around and bit him in his "asp".

John DePetro is right here. Bailey is a ' close, personal friend' of Msssss. Kahn, aka, "The Executioner". No wonder she gave him a mic of his own. Only question is - what did Bailey give Kahn ;)

Depetro brought this all on himself! No one told him to utter the words that got him fired, i'msure 'RKo loved that he was somewhat of a "loose cannon" but you must draw the line somewhere.
As for his complaining that a "father of 3 is fired just before Christmas with no severance", go complain to your agent Depetro or whoever it is that negotiated your contract for you!
I'm also sure that on your more than generous salary -and let's face it, if he wans't making a good one than he's a fool or his representation is a dunce, i'm sure on that generous salary he MUST have saved and invested a bit so save the crocodile tears Depetro!
You did it to yourself because you don't know how to control yourself, take your medicine and move on, leave already!

Isn't DePetro going to make millions because his attorney, Peter Bellotti, held a press conference?

How's the petition drive going?

689 Total Signatures not many more since we last checked

Note the double signatures and signature rejected still count as a vote; even with that less than
1,000. When BostonRose agrees with we humble posters, you know J.D. is in serious trouble.

659. Jackie Ferraro
658. Louis Ferraro
657. Steve Abdinoor
656. Michael Whitaker
655. Ruth Parsons Opt for honesty.....
654. John Markos Bring back JD!
653. michele shea john , where are you?
652. Marian DeCamp Big Mistake to have fired him
651. Jane Mass I've heard worse remarks from other talk show hosts. This was planned by the management because he leans conservative.
650. Steve Skaling Loyal listener from WHJJ days, continues to listen on internet
649. Alden Lumbard
648. Steve and Brandy Earle until John is back we are 96.9 listeners....
647. Steven Deal
646. Lynne Stewart
645. signature rejected
644. Robert Doell Bring him back
643. signature rejected

Duh, fired "because he leans conservative" - that one takes the cake. If it is a real "signature" it shows
the intelligence level of what little audience he had (The Boston Herald calling him "ratings challenged").

Hey, if Bell Billichick's wife (Art Bell and Bill Patriot!) could clip grocery coupons, so should Mrs. DePetro.

Thanks for noticing.

Wonder who the other one is? Seeing as I work for Entercom. I asked around and nobody seems to be able to pinpoint who you're talking about. I guess you've heard from some spectre who visited you during last night's local community theater performance.

DePetro got what was coming to him. He did hate-radio. He was not a good person, and the karma train hit him square where it hurt. It always does. Sometimes it's in the form of losing a gig. Other times, it manifests itself over the remainder of one's life. They spend each day lashing out at others, while deep down inside lamenting their own failures. Sometimes it digs so deeply into their psyche that they end up collecting disability from the state because they have been deemed mentally incompetant. Or they live with their Mother. They hide in the virtual world of the internet. They attempt to validate themself multiple times a day by posting on message boards that are directed toward the industry they never made it in.

It can be a painful, miserable existence. And the lesson learned is...karma is always coming around. Be careful whom you tear down today, for they may hold a trump card in the future. DePetro threw stones from the mountaintop. Eventually, they built up at the bottom and allowed someone to climb up and smack him in the mouth. He fell. Like all bullies inevitably do.

And now...like all bullies....he cries out as a victim. He threatens nonsensical legal recourse because he knows he has no marketable talent. He's weak. All bullies are. They bully because they have nothing in their life to truly appreciate. They are lonely, bitter people. And they don't think twice about turning on their own. There are so many I could reference, but DePetro is the only example of someone who's actually relevant to this forum.

I don't hate him. I hate what he does. And I feel no pity for the man.

Karma.

I just don't understand the business about "the father of 3 being fired before Christmas." If he had been fired in August then Depetro would have gone quietly? Or the fact that he chose to sire three children should have been a decision factor in firing or retaining him? If that were true then nobody with children would ever get a job. Is he possibly advocating that childless employees are more vulnerable than those with children?

Is Depetro really as stupid as he acts? How does this campaign beneift him? So he monitors the station now to make sure he's not slighted? Or to make sure he's mentioned.

Aside - has anyone noticed that the two hosts wrko is dumping, Depetro and SAM, were brought in by the same regime? Is there a class they could take somewhere on choosing talent?

Are you guys blind or just dumb? WRKO fires Depetro and his producer and then 2 weeks later fires the entire news dept.
That is 9 people in a span of 2weeks and was clearly pre-planned. I read the petition on his website and there seem to be a lot of RKO listeners angry at wolf for not even responding to them. Some of you slam depetro for his show but where are the better host to replace him? Does anyone even listen to Scott allen and Boston this morning? Since they took him off, I think it is the worst radio I have heard.

This is not a stupid move.

Decades back a talk host was fired from a station in Providence. They ran a series of statements "aploogizing for what xxxxxx xxxxxxx said during his former program". He was able to record some of them and took it to court, he having said or done nothing inappropriate. The judgement was somewhere around one million. Unfortunately he didn't get to enjoy it; died of cancer not all that long after. I have purposely left our the call and name to avoid offending his family who still lives in the area.

question:

1) Are they removing S.A.M.?

2)Anyone notice how there seems to be firings around the holidays in radio. DePetro and the news staff are
not pioneers in this by any stretch.

Do the stations plan on Dec. 1 or January 1 being a "fresh start"; do the "sweeps" coincide with TV sweeps? -
which are this week, last week, next week, i am not sure. The OJ thing was made for the "sweeps"

That's what Stephanie Miller would refer to as "Republicans eating their own" LOL

Also, last week when the Rosie/Clay/Kelly "3some" erupted, Fly Freddy Smerlas sounding like his dumb self and like his mouth if full of marbles...starting to trash Rosie and said, "she's a fat...." and then was interuppted by (I think) Ordway.

I was glad when I made the Whiner Line saying "Hey Freddy, it's John DePetro, you were saying somethinh about Rosie...you called her a fat "something" I didn't catch it, what did ya say?"

I kinda wish he would've answered it LOL

It's possible that Entercom started telling them to cut payroll and since DePetro's ratings had dropped to half
of what they were, they were looking for a good excuse to fire him--and they got it. Had he not said it he may have not been long for the station anyway what with cost-cutting, etc. He could have been let go due to
low ratings, etc

(ring, ring...)
"Mr. Wolfe? DePetro here. I think what you did was classless, especially since I was let go just before the
holidays, and you joked about it with the Globe! It really offended me! Oh, by the way, Mr. Wolfe? Can I have my old job back...Mr. Wolfe? Mr. Wolfe????"

(btw a link on DePetro.com to Jason "joking about the firing" from the Globe winds up getting a "page does
not exist (any more)" message

>>>Can I have my old job back...Mr. Wolfe? Mr. Wolfe?

not about that, it's the legal action...
