DePetro thinks ABC will promote him outta Providence

The move to the smaller Providence station puts the one-time Hub host in the country’s 38th radio market. That’s a big step back from Boston - the 11th biggest radio market in the country.
But DePetro said he’s excited to get back on the air and doesn’t see the move to the station where he once worked as a college intern as a step backward. While he said Boston is obviously a “much bigger city,” DePetro said one of the things that attracted him to WPRO was the station’s owner, Citadel Broadcasting Co.
Citadel is in the process of acquiring 22 ABC Radio stations.
“One of the things that attracted me was the management and that this is a growing company,” DePetro said.

I read that differently. I thought he meant clear channel is cutting people and selling stations,while Citadel is buying stations and seems more stable. Cut the guy some slack. He was on in Boston for over 2 years and filled in on WABC. "dream on pal"?
I think it is good news for local talk.

Nope, all he did at WRKO was whine about why he wasn't in New York City instead.

As much as I don't like to see broadcasters without jobs (considering too many people are being laid off these days), he doesn't deserve to be on the air anywhere.

All most of us have wanted was to get Depetro back in Rhode island. Now that he's officially back, I see more people bitching than ever. I don't get it. I am damn glad his show is back on here.

Because he's a different guy now, much more unstable.

for me the contractiction is because I'm happy to have a muckraker back on the air instead of the over the hill barber, but know him well enough to know that no one likes him and no one wants him to do well.
