OK, I saw on the news this morning that he is off the air today for his remarks about Grace Ross. This is good, and I'm glad...but I don't get why Gerry Callahan isn't off the air for saying the same thing about her, and taking it a bit further?

you make a valid point. the double stanard is ad revenue - d&c, howie, big o, hill all bring in a lot of cake for entercom sales. depetro? not so much.

Also, DePetro was still in 'the doghouse', as it were, for his F-G comment this summer. D&C have pretty much toed-the-line since their last wrist slap.

A very good point. The Globe story has George Regan of Entercom saying that "This corporation has zero tolerance for this type of nonsense." They are now on record so the next time one of their staff steps over the line they can be held accountable. We'll see what really happens.

good riddance but OF COURSE it's about ratings.. otherwise, as someone said, Callahan would be long gone. I have an idea that I've mentioned before.... since D&C seem to be more about politics, put them on 9 to noon and put a REAL sports show on WEEI in the morning.

... yes, I know, I'm fantasizing...

man, feinburg is worse than Depetro!! Why so much of him on there??

Callahan brings Entercomm ratings and revenue. I don't know what DePetro's numbers are, to be fair, but I doubt he brings in much revenue, considering the day part he's in.

This guy wanted to take over for Howie when the time came. Doesn't look like THAT'S gonna happen now.

>>DePetro needs press,

Hmm, was also thinking part of this could be "free publicity, just get my name right".

As far as suspensions go, was Randi Rhodes suspended by AAR for suggesting the Prez be shot?

But Bob, she's a compassionate person. By saying the President should be shot, she was just being compassionate towards all those moonbats that want another moonbat in office. She should be praised for her suggestion.

For Rhoads it was about free speech. DePetro is discriminating in an attempt to get ratings. He should've been fired for bad taste long ago. Look at the way he dresses...or fails to dress.

But there actually is a law about making a threat to the President and sometimes the Secret Service
investigates

>>Julia Wilson, 14, got a surprise visit from two Secret Service agents Wednesday at McClatchy High after the words "Kill Bush" appeared on MySpace.com...The latest Sacramento resident to be questioned by federal agents in possible threats against President Bush is a 14-year-old girl with a heart on her backpack and braces on her teeth, a freckle-nosed adolescent who is passionate about liberal politics and cute movie stars.

>>I don't know what DePetro's numbers are

I've heard he's never really gotten any good numbers..it's been said Rush Howie and even Savage do well for
'RKO but other shows, not so well...

All evidence backing up what I've been saying. To get hired at WRKO you need to:

1)be hardcore Republican on air (even if you are a progressive at heart)or feign that you are a moderate

2)be willing to bend over backwards to the powers that be. There was no "independence" to DePetro,
it was Karl Rovian use of the language to say one thing but deliver another.

WRKO relies on Howie to get the ratings; Rush is not what he used to be and Savage doesn't have the
lofty perch of 7 PM; I can't stand him but he has his audience. What a mish mash.

Mornings: Talented man in the wrong time, not being himself

9 AM - Noon Grace Ross for Radio Host! I think she'd be awesome, God knows the job she's applying for
is already taken. It is going to a man of colour who earned it fair and square (and is getting my vote) and not one of the two women running for office. William Weld calling Healey a "Weld Republican", that's like us in "the community" calling Kerry Healey an "honorary lesbian". She is neither, never will be, never wanted to be.

Noon - 3 PM Ed Schultz. Sound like Rush. Appeals to a Blue State. A winner for RKO.

Bad news for RKO

3 PM - 7 PM Title this: "Final year of Howie Carr's contract". (don't know if it is)
They should make it the "last 12 months of Carr" and maybe he'll actually do some work and stop resting on his laurels, such as they are.

7PM - 10 PM Hate to say it but Mike Savage, the despicable, would be a good Corporate move; I would also reserve the right to send letters demanding they fire him.

10 PM - 6 AM Raccoon Radio a la carte

Note that this state is not the same as the entire country...see the county-by-county maps in '00 and
'04 elections. Cartoon posted on Free Republic shows a donkey hitchhiking next to a sign, WELCOME TO
THE HEARTLAND: NEXT DEMOCRAT 500 MILES

"Independent" of Democrat politics maybe? The name refers to the Independent man on top of RI
State House

Savage good in very small doses (RedDiaperDoperBabies) if anything...sometimes he gets in the mood to play old 50s tunes. Thank God WTKK has Laura I.

Why hasn't Air America Boston hired someone like Ross then? Are they...discriminating? :)

I am a man of color: I'm kinda pinkish-orange. I am also a Native American (born in Lynn, part of
America).

I belong to the most popular party affiliation in the state: UNENROLLED

to quote our old friend Oedipus (if we emphasize "old" does RKO suspend us? or radio-info), DePetro using a symbol from Rhode Island on a Massachusetts radio station is - in Oedi's favorite word: 'Irrelevant!"

Your text does not compute.

I hate when people keep making that foe paw.
