DePetro's Columbus Day protest

DePetro is holding a rally against Brown University's boycott of Columbus Day. It's been renamed "Fall Weekend" due to unfair treatment of Native Americans, which John feels is an unsult to Italian Americans. John is working with the Brown Republicans and the Brown newspaper "The Brown Spectator".

And for your listening and dancing pleasure, from the same folks who brought you Domenic The Donkey:

Gee, with all the problems in RI this dingbat picks this for a "we got to change this effort"? It's more of an opportunity to attack Brown U. than it is about Italian heros. Pretty pathetic and lame.

amen

His campaign may seem trivial and silly but so is the initial renaming. Maybe he found out more Italian Americans have diaries than Native Americans.

I'm half Irish and half Italian. What John Depetro did today is more than anybody else did. Columbus was not what the crazies say he was. I feel badly the young minds at Brown are totally out talkin sh=t.

ryan.

I agree that Depetro isn't the crazy one here. Brown is trying to rewrite history. They need to check themselves and realize that no other college is doing this. So perhaps they are a little wacky.

Nobody cares! That's the problem. Try to take the holiday away from them altogether and you'd get one heck of a crowd. There's too many other things to protest in this day and age.

Having JD as the spokesman doesn't attract too many people either.

You're exactly right! Had Buddy Cianci been the one leading the charge, you can rest assured this would have created a much bigger stir.

Hmmm......Now that I think of it...This is just the sort of thing that the late Steve White used to be great at!

Dipitro has always been lame and obnoxious. Why should anyone be surprised at this?

I don't think it's obnoxious. Lame maybe because the brouhaha itself is lame but good press for WPRO. Who really cares what Brown University thinks about Columbus Day? The day came and went and a lot of people worked a usual and how many really celebrate it in any way?
