Des Moines Summer Ratings

When's the last time WHO wasn't number one? Or the last time KGGO was number one?

Other notes... the Bus doubled their 12+ rating from spring, KLTI took a major dive, KKDM and KRNT also off.

The country stations have settled down a bit but still above where they were a year ago.

KMXD continues to go nowhere.

KWKY-1150 fails to show. And KPSZ-940 still a no-show.

IIRC, at one time KISS gave WHO a run for their money, but it didn't last. Seem's like KWKY is in one month and out the next.

You know, I don't think i've seen Praise show up once in the 12+, but as long as God is telling them to keep chugging away in an over saturated market for Christian radio, I guess that is what the DSM Radio Group will do. Also, no where to be found is 107.1/96.1, all though, they are listener supported and don't depend on the ratings to convince advertisers to advertise on their station.

I'm surprised CC has stuck with My 100 for this long, but then again, it's easier to sell 80's & 90's than it is Hip Hop.

I thought The Bus would cannabilize KGGO. Apparently not, as they are both doing well. As for WHO, I wonder if losing Paul Harvey made that much difference--I guess I don't remember exactly when that happenned, and if that would be reflected here.

On a completely unrelated note, I noticed that Holden Kushner, former morning man on the Big Ticket 940 has a show on XM in the evenings on the MLB channel.

107.1/96.1 won't be listed. Northwestern College runs them non-commercially.
The numbers would be included in the info stations get, but not on what's published on the internet.

In Minneapolis, Northwestern's flagship FM actually gets very high ratings and rakes in millions each year in their fund drive.

Someone noted on a previous thread the network change came after the ratings period.

I wonder if WHO's buzzy, tinny IBOC signal has cut time spent listening?

FWIW, I checked the website for 107.1 and they are well short of reaching their fundraising drive goal.

http://knwi.nwc.edu/page.php?id=2 Grant I don't know how long it's been runing and when it ends, but interesting none the less.

Guess I'm not sure what the fascination is with Paul Harvey. I realize a lot of people listen to him, but not sure why. I've tried to listen to him quite a few times since he got moved over to 98.3, but he's always bored me to death.

Anyone got a link to the ratings?
