Desperate Housewives:Comedy Or Soap Opera/Drama

I was wondering why Desperate Housewives is considered a comedy when in fact it is a soap opera/drama. Should the show have been nominated in the Best Drama category at the Emmys instead of Best Comedy? Sex And The City is much more a comedy than Desperate Housewives is.

Here's a term that hasn't been used since John Ritter's portrayal in Hooperman back in the late 80s/early 90s (though it didn't win unfortunately).....dramedy.

The Emmys should have included a category for best "dramedy series" or comedy-drama for that matter.<P ID="signature">______________

Especially for all those viewers who do not understand the parody of the soaps that makes DW as funny as it could be. DW doesn't fit the award show characterizations in a "Northern Exposure" kind of way.

The Dallas Morning News had a line I thought was great calling the ladies of DW "The Charlie's Angels of our time". Man that's deep.
