Detroit July 2013 Ratings.

Top 5: #1 WYCD 8.1, #2 WWJ 6.5, #3 WMXD 6.3, #4 WXYT 97.1 6.1, and #5 WOMC 6.0. Highlights; 105.9 pulls their best share in over a year(5.1), 96.3 has another slight drop, 98.7 creeps closer to 95.5(95.5 4.9/98.7 4.0), 106.7 has a decent gain, Doug-FM looks dead, and about ready to flip, 93.9 The River is ahead of 89X. Never thought I'd see that. Kind of amazed WCHB pulls in a 0.8, and has a cume of 80.000 on that signal. Thoughts and the like are welcome.

Good jump for WYCD, surprising drop for The Ticket. Surprising with how well the Tigers have been doing. WOMC and WDMK also show gains. WRIF was flat after all of the hullabalo about the new morning show. I'm sure there was movement in the demos, but it's not showing up on the cume. A telling sign is a 0.3 drop at 89X. They likely lost audience to WRIF, however, AMP shows a notable gain as well., seemingly at the expense of WDVD.

Notable drop at Doug-FM. I say it's all but certain they flip to NASH. I wouldn't be shocked if it happens by Labor Day. The two sports stations in the market that aren't 'The Ticket' and subscribe to the ratings book are drawing a 'massive' 0.2 each. I'd suspect that 1090 is drawing even less. And this is what Greater Media wants to convert 105.1 to? WCSX was flat, so D&M listeners haven't exactly flocked there., instead they went to 106.7 which saw a HUGE gain. If this is sustained when Drew appears on 105.1, it may doom any plan to convert that station to talk when Cumulus drops Hannity and Limbaugh. Instead, they'd go to WDFN.

So, this month 105.1 will flip and possibly 93.1. WNIC will show a large gain in subsequent books. Clear Channel thus far is the big beneficiary of Greater Media's moves. Sometimes you don't need to be smart or good you just need to be present.
