The cities listed are the cities in which the stations' studios were located. 950, 1270 and 1500 AM and 93.1, 95.5, 97.1, 98.7, 99.5 and 105.1 FM are all in fact licensed to Detroit though their studios were in suburban Oakland County. 102.7 FM is actually licensed to Mount Clemens.

Call letter corrections (the paper sometimes got this info wrong so I assume the typos were on their end): 1500 is WLQV, 107.1 is WQKL, and 107.5 is WGPR. Also, the city where 98.7's studios were located should be Farmington Hills.

Also omitted are 88.1 WHPR Highland Park (Talk/R&B/Gospel) as well as most of the various high school/college campus student stations around the area (except for CJAM):
88.1 WBFH Bloomfield Hills (Bloomfield Public Schools)
88.1 WSDP Plymouth (Plymouth-Canton Schools)

88.3 WXOU Auburn Hills (Oakland University)

89.3 WHFR Dearborn (Henry Ford Community College)
89.5 WAHS Auburn Hills (Avondale School District)
89.5 WOVI Novi (Novi Community School District)

As an addendum, here's a list of a few out-of-market stations with coverage in much of the metro area (not an exhaustive list):

Interesting. I'd like to see a 25 year side-by-side update. Example is I read that WDRQ (I love it in the early 80s) is now Christian.
