DFW Channel 56 (55 DirecTV)

I thought that was KFWD - 52, which is running the remastered trek btw...

KFWD/52 only runs repeats of the WFAA/8 news at 7pm and 11pm (right after The Twilight Zone).

And yes, they also run the remastered Star Trek (a surprise, since KTXA/21 had the syndication rights, apparently right up until the first episode aired on 9/17). And I must say, it looks gorgeous. In fact, KFWD's signal is one of the strongest I've seen on a UHF station in a long time. Wonder where their tower is located?

I don't know of a channel 56 in this market...seems like it would catch some (but not a lot) of interference from KLDT/55 in Lake Dallas. Is it a digital station? If so, and it's "mirroring" WFAA, I wonder if Belo has managed to glom onto a second digital outlet for WFAA (besides DTV Channel 9), and if so, if it's legal to do so?

KFWD/52 is transmitting from a tower in Cedar Hill, same as most of the other stations in the market.

As for channel 56, there is no station on the air on that channel in this market...neither analog or digital. There is a low powered analog station on channel 57, as well as full powered stations on 55 and 58. But nothing on 56 at this time...although someone has filed an application for a digital low powered station on that channel.

Could it be your tuner "overcompensating" on KFWD/52?

I have a TV which tunes the UHF station at the UHF station, sometimes UHF+4 and sometimes UHF-4, depending on signal strength...

On this TV (I'm in Houston), 39 comes in on 35 also, but with some signal loss; 26 interferes with 22 (no big deal for me - as I don't watch Daystar...), 45 will come in on 49 (I don't get 49 at my location - too close to Galveston), 67 will come in on 63, and 61 comes in on 65...

Go figure - nothing interferes with the channels I watch, so its no big deal...

Jim
