90.1 KERA No HD

101.1 WRR HD No Music ID Displayed

What about KHKS? Or were these the ones you could get in your end of town? I'd like to see a comprehensive list of every HD station in DFW (hell, in N Texas) that's broadcasting. Your list gives me the impression that some clusters are throwing in the towel (which may indeed be the case!)

106.1 KHKS is broadcasting in HD with Song Titles displayed and also on their HD-2 Channel. I only surveyed some stations that I might listen to.

I am surprised that KERA has not gone HD, and that WRR has not added an HD-2 channel. I feel like there would be a listenership for movie soundtrack music, among other things, besides the perinneal Star Wars and ET music played on the air and by the Symphones....

I'm not surprised. The broadcasting equipment licensing fees for HD charged by Ibiquity are constantly increasing as each day goes by, to the point that non-comms like KERA can't afford it. Dallas may not see the need to invest in it as well, for WRR.

For the 15 of you with hd radios, does it really make a difference?

It's that high? Man, I feel like I need to get in the club. ;)

You can even 'get in the Club' through Wal Mart .... if that helps you feel like an everyman.....

Okay.. I'll post in this thread too;

Sorry, go to an actual Wal-Mart store and see what happens. I did this past weekend and got blank stares from the workers in the electronic section. They had no HD radios on the shelves at all. The salespeople thought I was looking for satellite radio or an HDTV.

Seriously, this technology is dead. Radio can pour more money into it if they want and try to revive it, but it's dead. Moving everyone to another frequency to do full digital would be fine, but that will take years. It's probably a more worthwhile goal than spending money on a technology that people do not want to buy for the price that's being offered.

This Morning....

92.5 is back on in HD-1 and HD-2 ( with Song ID's Displayed on Both).

93.3 HD-2 is back on.

I also hear KPMZ/96.7 in HD. Their HD-2 is a 60 second (appx) delay of HD-1.

Occasionally KLAK/97.5 and KETR/89.9 come through in HD. Neither has an HD-2.

I can get the 96.7 Broadcast, which originates from about 15 miles NE of Decatur.

But, I don't get the HD 1 or 2 signal, here in Irving, even though RadioLocater has me in the Local coverage area. I sit at a lower elevation looking Northward.

Just out of curiosity, how unique is the All 90s format on 93.3 HD-2?? I'm going to Dallas in about a month, HD Radio in hand. This is one of the few stations that does not stream and is probably worth airchecking in this day and age.
