DiAndrea Lauded By Broadcasters

I had the privilege of working with Dick in the '60s both before and after my gig in the Army. I have no doubt that he influenced my performances when I was doing the "Good Morning Vietnam" show from Saigon. In my 11+ years in broadcasting, I'd worked with many of broadcasting's "elder statesmen," but none had maintained the enthusiasm, freshness and elan that Dick continues to exude on the air even today, so so many years into his career. Congrats to a legend.

I worked with Dick during his early WFBG-AM-FM-TV days and have never forgotten his zest, gusto
and good nature. A polished performer (and survivor) like him deserves statewide recognition.
He could have gone bigtime. Yay, DiAndrea!

Dick deserves more than a statue, certificate or trophy. Dick is a broadcaster...what a broadcaster should be. What we have on air now...simply doesn't even come close!

Dick was a pleasure to work with. No hint of being a prima dona. No hint of him going behind your back to "squeal" to the boss and then smile in your face. He did his job and worked to improve. He wasn't working behind the scenes to screw you or get your job. Sadly, that wasn't the case of others he has worked with!

Start a school Dick. Pour out your knowledge!

I had the pleasure of working with Dick for a few months before I left WALY and Altoona back in 1990. He was great to work with and very easy to play off of. I've worked with a lot of partners over the years and I'd put him somewhere up near the top. It's great to still hear him on the radio. After 50 years most broadcasters sound like they're ready to hang it up. Dick is still at the top of his game.
