Dick Bartley Returns

After a brief absence when WINN/Columbus dropped the Oldies format, Dick Bartley's Saturday Night show is back on WCLS 97.7/Spencer. I'm thankful for that, but do hope that the engineering department will apply some needed TLC to the WCLS audio chain. WINN had me spoiled...

I agree with the audio comment. I think it's great they are starting to get some decent programming on. Bloomington is a college town, so you need something "upbeat and different" on Saturday nights. (Does that make sense?) Too bad it's not a local LIVE show, but it's better than just sweepers.

It is a GREAT show...I think WTPI aired it here a *long* time ago before it starting moving around to different stations.
But really, Bob...an engineeering department at WCLS??? That got me laughing! :D

Well...a guy can dream. Somebody put the thing together & it gets out like very few class A's do. I can hear it to exit 29 on I-65...and the only thing that seems to stop it is WAMZ 97.5's 100KW starts nibbling at it. I can make it sound great here at home...a shame that no one else benefits from it but me...

I assume you are Dan T...

I can hear it on the southside of Indy while traveling 465, albeit a bit noisy.
You assumption is correct!

That's about correct for 6kw...I get Crock 92.7 to Cascade High School when I travel US 40. I get WCBK driving through Cloverdale on 231 easily.

I think you'll find many of their stations are running over legal power.

WLQT "Lite" 99.9 in Dayton airs it from 7-midnight Saturdays for those of you in east central Indiana.

Bartley use to be on Brazil's WSDM when it was playing oldies and it was a great show! Now Crossroads WAXI is airing Mike Harvey who is playing more late 70's. Both do a great job, but I like Bartley best.

Bartley puts on a rather dull and boring show. It has no flavor and in a college town do not expect it to do well. There is a reason why he is losing bigger markets like cincinnati when wgrr took it off the air. He will go the way of the oldies format, OUT THE DOOR! He is old and tired sounding, plus the sound effects he uses and the way he delivers the show are great...if it were 1982.
