DICK BIONDI

EVERYONE in Chicago remembers Dick Biondi!!! He's a Legend...and like the Eveready Bunny he keeps going and going and going...

Anyone in radio who DOESN'T remember the "Wild Itralian" should be banished to cab dispatching.

I still revere him for the mini-skirt comment. I still revere mini-skirts, for that matter.
Is it possible anyone in radio has not heard that story?
Ahhh the 60's and 70's.
I'm 46, and growing up by Chicago, I can't ever forget him.
My wife's 37, and while she never heard him while growing up, she has recently heard him,
and says she likes his show, the less-obvious songs he airs, and his knowledge of rock.

And all these years later, radio hosts could say the same thing, and no one even raises an eyebrow. Talk about
how times have changed!

Just wanted to get my 2-cents worth in here.
Dick's 75th birthday is today (Sep. 13)--he's only 75.
:)

Of course I remember him--the traitor. He doesn't remember me, that's all. I request songs, and nothing happens. What a traitor.
I'm even in the same age group as the station's target audience.
With any luck, I'll be able to visit Dick pretty soon--before the weather gets bad, for sure.

To enlighten you a bit: Dick Biondi is a current WLS(FM) jock. As far a being an "old" jock, it depends on what is your definition of "old"?

Most everyone in Chicago over 40 has some recollection of Dick Biondi. That's like asking if anyone in Chicago remembers Larry Lujack.

I had the distinct privilege of designing the logo for his syndicated ''Supergold Rock n Roll Show'' back in the late 70's when he worked in North Myrtle Beach for WNMB-FM. As fate would have it,I was hired by WKZQ-FM across town, where I eventually would do mornings against this ''American Radio Icon'' before he headed back to his beloved Chicago. I considered Dick more of a mentor and friend than competitor and still catch his antics nightly on the oldies station website when I can.........''Dick , You da man!!!!'' Now,he's what you call a survivor from the days of ''Real Personality Radio''8)........he invented it!!
