Dick Clark on wcbsfm today 5pm

Thanks to BBLee of the Dick Clark part at 5pm today, will be repeated sunday night 6pm and then a special with Dick Bartley :) wow, music memories, where did my child years go? If you missed today, listen sunday night!!!

Mary - on Sunday night starting at 7 Dick Bartley will be doing a countdown of the acts that appeared on American Bandstand to honor Dick Clark.

And speaking of that, over in the Hudson Valley listening area, WGNY's "Fox Oldies" is now carrying Dick Clark's "Rock, Roll & Remember" every Sunday afternoon at 2 PM. I'm looking forward to record this show after a month of not recording it, because the syndicated "Classic Countdown" with Dick Bartley is not on "Fox Oldies" anymore. I hope I would listen to it right now, but I'm recording this show, and after that, I'm going to post the full show of Dick Clark's "Rock, Roll & Remember".

You can still listen to syndicated Dick Bartley's tribute to syndicated Dick Clark (both based out of USRN where both got their start, though in different ways) on CBS FM this evening. There will be a repeat of the Friday airing this evening at 6:00 p.m, followed by the CBS Classic Countdown tribute with Dick Bartley.

Earlier tonight, I was trying to record this show, because the streaming had some issues, so I recorded off of stream from foxradio.net under the "Fox Oldies" section, I turned my preamp for 3 hours and never finished. So I decided to scrap it, I'm not going to post this week's aircheck of Dick Clark's "Rock, Roll & Remember" show. Wait until next week. As I said "Rock, Roll & Remember" will still be heard every Sunday at 2 PM on WGNY's "Fox Oldies".

FYI, Premiere, which syndicates the "classic" Casey Kasem reruns, will be making available to its affiliates this weekend the one and only "American Top 40" show that was cohosted by Dick Clark in 1972.

It might be a classic, but it seems to me rather tasteless at this particular time to make Dick Clark share the spotlight in a lesser light.

But, be that as it may, those who already paid tribute did so with the utmost grace and class, including giving him the high honor.

I wondered how did Mr. Clark and Mr. Kasem got along? Were they friendly, did they hate each other, or did they have nothing to do with each other. I bet Clark was envious of Kasem's countdown sucess, Clarks countdown shows never approached the popularity of Kasem's. Both of them were red hot in the late 70's early 80's, remember Kasem was the voice of the NBC television network for a time, he had a TV show too. At this time Clark was ALL over the place, Bloopers, Bandstand, Pyramid, Beauty Pageants.

He had a show "Dick Clark's National Music Countdown". WYNY 97.1 aired it in the New York area. Timewise it was when Evelyn Champagne King had the song Love Comedown and Michael McDonald had I Keep Forgetting. 1981-1982 timeframe.

Does anybody carry this locally?

Thank you. Nevertheless, I have a feeling that all of Dick Clark's other accomplishments and achievements put him way out of the league of just countdowns, not that anything is wrong with countdowns in and of themselves, but most who do countdowns are also well accomplished in other business ventures.

Not carried in NYC...

for an online feed, try WODS-FM-103.3 Boston http://wods.radio.com/djs/ (AT40 1970s Rewind Monday morning Midnight-3am)

or WOGL-FM-98.1 Philadelphia http://wogl.radio.com/?s=casey+kasem (AT40 1970s Rewind Saturday morning 6-9am)

Station listings on TuneIn.com - check to make sure, not always accurate:

And don't forget "Dick Clark's Rock, Roll & Remember", the show can also be heard on WGNY's "Fox Oldies" every Sunday afternoon from 2 PM until 6:30 PM. I didn't record it last week, so I'll have another shot tomorrow afternoon when I'm recording it.

How long will this show run?

Guess what! I listened to "Fox Oldies" right now and they have Dick Clark's "Rock, Roll & Remember" show which is a repeat of previous shows from a long time ago. I remember RRR when it used to be on WCZX as an oldies station back in the 90's when it was "Oldies 97.7", but I haven't listened to it until now. That's why I'm recording this show. I'll start doing this every Sunday in memory of Dick Clark.

This did not happen. Did anyone catch the original broadcast of this. If
someone can provided a recording of this show to me I would really appreciate it.

Last weekend, I didn't post that aircheck until now, because I was so busy on uploading the last weekend of music on WRKS "Kiss-FM" at 98.7 before it became ESPN, so I have to post it right here. This is the entire 4 hours and 30 minutes of Dick Clark with his "Rock, Roll & Remember" show from WGNY's "Fox Oldies" on both 1220 AM and on 98.9 FM in the Hudson Valley area. This show is a repeat from 2001 where it features the girl groups in this "Artists Profile" segment. About two weeks ago, I started recording the show, and it cuts off for the first 17 minutes, because of that TuneIn app that I was using to record the show. That stinks! That was my first attempt, I did my second attempt the following week, and it worked, so here it is. Enjoy!
