Dick Clark Productions

I'm sure all of you are familiar with the guy's own production company. Well, I was watching the American Music Awards last night, and at the end of the show, there was something that you rarely see on any TV show today. The REAL, full-screen credits! And the dc productions tag at the end, I believe is the same as it ever was. I wonder if this is because Dick Clark himself won't let them scrunch the credits. Do they do the same thing on New Year's Rockin' Eve, or any other show produced by DC productions?

Didn't Freemantle buy Dick Clark productions? I heard a rumor that Ryan Seacrest may inherit DCP when Dick dies. Discuss....

In 5 years of on-and-off watching (depending on the eye candy ;)) Mexican telenovelas on Univision (at least the shows from EsMas, don't know about Venivision), I've yet to see a telenovela that *didn't* have full-screen credits. Univision must be behind the curve re how much of the screen to devote to credits. 8)

Why does Dick Clark have such a lovefest going on for Ryan Seacrest? I don't get that one at all!

We've been discussing that for the last 2 years since Seacrest came on as Dick's New Years Rockin Eve "co-host" once Dick had his stroke.

I'm sure we'll discuss it again this year.

I don't understand the lovefest for Seacrest either. He's everywhere, he's overexposed. Not much of a talent in my opinion yet he has a high-rated radio show at the #1 or 2 rated station in LA; he does E News; he does Idol; and whatever else. I dont get it. I'll take his money though.

I think its a case of Dick Clark thinking to himself that Ryan Seacrest "..he is just like the way I was back in the 50s".
A chip off the old block. Back in the 50s, Clark to many teenage girls was considered a hunk, sexy, and "with it", and today its Ryan Seacrest.

But of course times have changed since the 50s and yes Seacrest is way overexposed.

I wouldn't be surprised that within 10 years years, Seacrest would be nothing more than a trivia question "Whatever became of ?????"

Kinda like Dan Cortese 15 years ago.

When it comes to live specials like award shows, ABC and Fox are the only two networks who ALWAYS show full-screen credits followed by the closing logo.

An updated, HD-friendly version of the dc logo is shown at the end of "So You Think You Can Dance." The AMAs and New Year's Rockin' Eve are both in HD, but for some reason they decided to stick with the 1990 version.

esmas.com is the website for Televisa. Televisa are the producers of those programmes you listed as EsMas programmes.

That's right. The Televisa logo shows up at the end of the credits of each show.
