Dick Clark's American Bandstand in Buffalo

As we all mourn the loss of Dick Clark, it takes me back to a time when I was growing up in Toronto. I used to love watching American Bandstand every Saturday afternoon provided I could recieve it and that was difficult for me. I really had to prey for the right atmospheret condititons so I could watch it over WOKR-TV (Now WHAM-TV) Channel 13 in Rochester. The ABC affiliate WKBW channel 7 in Buffalo which serviced Toronto for some reason, gave up airing American Bandstand and it was only offered to people who subscribed to what was then, Courrier cable on channel 10 in Buffalo because WKBW ran local programming in place of it. Both Western New York and Southern Ontario missed out on an amazing personality and to this day, I have no idea why that was. Any answers? So long Dick, you will be missed.
