A Florida radio host who railed against Dr. Fauci and vaccines has died from COVID-19

After contracting the virus, friends said Dick Farrel texted them and urged them to get the vaccine.

A radio host from Florida who publicly bashed coronavirus vaccines has died from COVID-19.

Dick Farrel frequently advocated against the vaccine on his personal Facebook page.

"Why take a vax promoted by people who lied 2u all along about masks, where the virus came from and the death toll?" Farrel wrote on Facebook on July 3, with no additional context or clarification. "Vaccine Bogus Bull Shid!, Two peeps I know, got vaxed, now have Corona, hospitalized critical," he wrote on July 1. "Thank you Moderna, FOR NOTHING!"

Sadly his vaccine rants his being used against him in death.

There was a similar op-ed on is Talk Radio killing people but it was originally directed at Phil Valentine when there was uncertainties if he was going survive COVID-19 and the politics surrounding vaccines.

Also there was a similar response when the Lincoln Project accused Fox News for politicizing COVID-19 and Tucker Carlson was the primary target on that one.

Sadly his vaccine rants his being used against him in death.

I don't necessarily see that as being "sad" at all. Rather, I see it as an opportunity to turn this man's death (a negative) into a teaching moment for others (a positive). This guy once called Fauci a "Power Tripping Lying Freak" and was staunchly Anti-Vax. His words and commentaries potentially led many away from fact-based science and caused them to not get vaccinated. For the past weeks as he suffered himself, he was contacting friends, telling them to get the shot. This should get full exposure and be used as a learning opportunity for hordes of others.

As the news story below mentions, this same type of scenario has played out several times over, where ill informed anti-vaxers are telling people publicly that they shouldn't get jabbed, then when they themselves fall ill, they're reversing course and telling anyone around them who will listen, to get the vaccine. It was reported a few weeks ago that a physician in a heavily republican populated area was seeing lots of patients come in after having caught various strains of Covid, begging the doctors to give them the vaccine, thinking it might help them fight it or recover faster. The doctors, of course, can only explain that once they've caught Covid the vaccine won't help them, and then try and get them to understand (for the umpteenth time) how vaccines work.
