Im kinda new to florida and have been playing with the radio and stubled on him on WPBR 1340....i think...What is the vibe about him..He sounds good and all but what does every one else think about him..

He was on WIOD in the late 80's when 610 was still a predominantly local talker. The reason he's on WPBR brokering time has more to do with the shriveling of local talk radio in favor of syndication, rather than any lack of talent on Farrell's part. Same thing happened to Steve Kane, basically. The fact that most South Florida Anglos are liberal Democrats may also make it harder for conservative local hosts. I'd think it would make sense to take 1290 all conservative and put Farrell in p.m. drive, and take 1230 all-liberal and move Randi over there.

Actually, Dick Farrel was a casuality of the Clear Channel Takeover. Before WBZT was make into mostly a brokered talk station, it was the home of Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura, and Dick Farrell ran mornings on BZT. Dick Farrell was able to turn to WPBR, where he works as the sales manager, to broadcast his show and his longtime sponsors pay for him to be on the air. He was known to be a pest with management, but nevertheless his voice is still on the air.
