Dick Morris Out At Fox News

CNN is trying to rebuild it's reputation. Why would they want a guy who just
delivered the most wildly inaccurate election predictions in TV history?

Are you joking? Why would CNN want Morris? He was not only wildly inaccurate with his election predictions, but he's an irritating whiny presence - very annoying on air, IMO. Carl Rove (as much as I loathe him), I can understand - he's articulate, intelligent and delivers good arguments for his point of view.

Rove is also a great grifter. After wasting hundreds of millions in the last election (after skimming off millions in fees), he's now started a new Super Pac which he promises will help produce Republican majorities in congress by going after "unelectable" Tea Party candidates. So now he can go back to his major donors, waste more of their money, and still collect his hefty fees. Quite a racket if you can pull it off, and Rove obviously can. Plus, after the whole thing blows up again, Turd Blossom can have another major meltdown live on TV just like he did when Fox called Ohio for Obama. The only question is whether Fox will bring him back for 2014 and 2016 election coverage after the huge 2012 embarrassment.

I can't believe I'm defending Rove in any way. But I have to say that his record overall as a political magician has been quite successful. If you go back a couple of decades, there were fellow conservatives in Texas who ridiculed Rove for attaching his wagon to George W. Bush, who many considered to be a flawed man, and just the lightweight son of a great man . But Rove managed to get W all the way to the White House for 2 terms - no small feat.

He's a perpetual screwup when it comes to elections, but because this final bungling was what Fox viewers wanted to hear, he was seen as some sort of visionary. In truth, he was blatantly biased and no one at the network obviously called him on it since everyone was all-in on getting Romney elected.

But Rove's greaseboard has gone dry since then. His worst miscue (to me) though was his 11th hour, on-air protest against FOX for calling Ohio for Obama, complaining that such a call was premature.

Carl Rove is a posterchild for the GOP's woes since '08. But, getting back on track with this thread, Dick Morris may be the majorette leading FOX News' march to potential humiliation. His poll tracking proved just as inaccurate in the '08 Prez campaign.

I'd argue that Rove only got the incumbent W to the presidency one time. The first time around, it was the Supremes who put their thumb on the scales and handed the win to their ideological ally.

Yes - Diana Ross, in particular. ;D I think he meant Supreme Court. And I wouldn't disagree.

Oh, I get it, "SUPREMES". I remember now. Didn't they have a hit last summer, a song about healthcare reform?
