Dick Ring Retiring

Wonder how cox plans on filling PM drive on WWRM? Probably giving somebody a seven hour shift. What happens to the 7-10 PM music jock on the Bone? I'm sure whatever it is will be underwhelming. Maybe they are sorry they cut Corey Dylan . Does this mean the Dove becomes an at work station for more than dentist offices?
 
Oh boy, Kieth Conners will now be on from when Chad and Kristi end their show until Delilah. 7-9 Hour Shifts, wonder if Dick Raynes and Joel would do shifts on Magic.

A few months back I heard Joel on Magic 94 during the afternoon drivetime. Using the same "Joe Elliot" name he used on WPOI.
 
Sorry to hear this... I worked with Dick back in the early 70's at then 1490 AM WTRL... then again @ WBRD AM 1420 and WDUV-FM 103.3 when it was still a local Bradenton/Sarasota station...

It looks to me like this is a situation where Ring is leaving on his own volition (just got a new house in NC) as opposed to being pushed out by Cox management. In that case, I wouldn't necessarily be "sorry to hear" this news.
 
Well, it's been a few days... What's your thoughts on Ann Kelly in the morning? MsMusicRadio?
 
She sounds fine , but it appears she is still on Magic PM drive too. Wonder which shift is live? And is this the final plan for Cox, using her on both?
 
Dick Ring had been the only live voice on The Dove. He even read his own news briefs. And he'd also give the weather forecast. I haven't heard if Ann Kelly does news briefs and weather as well. But if she does, then she'd obviously have to do The Dove live. You can't record the Monday morning news and weather on Friday afternoon.

I suppose if Cox were really trying to save money or had a doubts about The Dove's future, they would have just automated the mornings as they do the rest of the day. So bringing in a new morning host is a good sign.

@MsMusicRadio: Voicetracking a local morning shift in a Top 20 market is a B-A-D move. You might be able to get away with it in afternoon drive, so I would bet Ann's Magic shift is tracked.
