Dickert replacing Dickey?!?!?!?

Oh my! Steve Dickert's now market manager for local Cumulus stations? And this isn't an April Fool's Joke? The rumor was true! Good for him, but oh, the unanswered questions! Did he know about this opportunity before leaving Citadel? Was "interim market manager" in Flint just to keep him busy 'til the non-compete ran out? How will Citadel fair now? Will he hire his old friends? Bring in his old contacts? What changes will hit the market?

Congrats to Cumulus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I won't call it Crumulus this time!)
Citadel gets an additional F on the
report card on top of the one when he
was dismissed. Steve is a nice and
logical bonus for Cumulus. Please,
just let him work his magic. Nashville
radio already sounds better and I haven't
even listened yet!!

KDF - Enjoy the April Fool's Country
bash! It'll be the last one. :)

The ultimate result of this is that George Plaster and crew will be back on 99.7 by this time next year.

GP has already had discussions with Cumulus and is very, very disillusioned with Citadel and their direction or lack there of.

They won't pay him so he is looking at 99.7 where the man that brought him to Citadel is now employed.

It doesn't hurt that Cumulus owners are bidding on the Atlanta Braves, GP's lifelong dream is to broadcast the Braves.

Irony

Plaster? WTN? Think again.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

Plaster is not going back to WTN. Period. End of discussion.
______________

No, actually, he is not. There is not a daypart currently available on 99.7

Well, they could put him on from Noon to 1PM where that hanging hour of Bill O'Reilly is now. Maybe that's what he's negotiating.
______________

You don't know much about radio programming, politics and teh desire for the egos to get paid. You really think that there is a daypart ole plaz couldn't out bill and destroy the ratings currently being produced by any of the dayparts on WTN? If you don't think he's talking to them, then you don't know ole plaz and you don't know radio.

Yes, Phil Valentine. WTN now has their line up close to perfect. The only day part I see Plaz filling at 99.7 is if "True Stories" gave Gill his walking papers and put Plaz on in morning drive.

Plaz ain't going to WWTN. But, G. Gordon Liddy needs to
hang it up now. He's getting slower and more painful every
day. You have to admit, it would be interesting to fill
that slot with Valentine or Plaster. I know why Phil's
where he is, time-wise, though. Sports wouldn't work as
well during lunch --- Rome's got that covered. Ha!

Agreed (at least the part about Liddy). I have really enjoyed the G man over the years but time is taking its toll on him. I have always thought that WTN was keeping Neil Bortz' show on so that when the time has come that they need to replace Liddy they could air Bortz live instead of tape delayed.
