Did 93.7 Radio Ola change formats recently?

They now seem to have a different name. My Spanish isn't great but my guess is that the name translates to "Sovereignty Radio" or something.
As for the music, I'm hearing less of the former style Spanish Christian music and, strangely, a lot of the time there's some Latin / Salsa / Merengue / South American Spanish language Christian music playing! That's a format I've never heard in SA before. Wonder how long it'll last? I'd say the latin music makes up around half of the new station's playlist, just mentioning it because it's different.

As for 105.9 it's just automated mostly upbeat style Spanish Christian rock with a few Radio Ola liners thrown in. They seem to not care as much about that station or maybe they're only trying to make sure it has audio.

Definitely not being operated legally now, these two stations. But that's nothing new. Seriously it baffles me how they're still programming separately, and carrying merrily on. :eek:
 
The "Radio Ola" website has been "suspended" ..
 
What was the Spanish word you heard that translated to sovereignty? Maybe they were talking about kingdom as in Kingdom of God.
 
Hey Fred, I really couldn't tell you, the liner sounded like "sovenatural" if I were to try and spell it. I suppose I could always record an air check and post it.

I've noticed that 105.9 FM is now mixing in English Christian songs along with the Spanish ones. I actually kind of dig this new mix of English music, consists of contemporary-sounding Christian music yet not the same few songs over and over like KZAR and KZLV. However, it's a mix of English and Spanish music as I said, so you have no idea what language you'll get until you hear the song.
Their liners are all pretty much in Spanish and say "Radio Ola".
 
Just tuned into 93.7 for a minute, and heard some guy talking in Spanish. I was able to pick up "www.radiosobrenatural.com"...
And this is it! Seems the Radio Ola group is probably giving 93.7 out to these guys all day except mornings, as that's when I've noticed that it seems to be different (English and Spanish Christian music) programming. Here's an audio stream. http://174.123.30.146:8168

And Supernatural Radio does sound like a strange name. LOL.
 
It is common in Latin America for powers beyond ours to be considered super natural. It phrase does not have the same baggage it has in American English.
