Did ABC/Disney go too far with a KLOS promotion?

You guys may have heard about the Mark and Brian promotion to marry a complete stranger on the Queen Mary. That couple has now filed to cancel the marriage agreement.

But now a question arises, was ABC even in the wrong for this promotion. Should there be reprocussions/fallout from all this?<P ID="signature">______________

They were no more wrong for promoting it than any of the reality-type TV shows that promote. What was that TV show that got a lot of flack about that nurse marrying a millionare ... remember it was a rich seedy guy and a nurse??
And look at "Trading Spouses", "Blind Date" and shows like that appealing to the lowest common denominator in TV viewers. What M&B did was nowhere near the stuff Howard Stern promoted. But it does speak volumes about the dumbing down of the radio audience in my opinion. But then I never ever GOT Mark & Brian's shtick and never could understand why Howard was the King of All Media either. Hohum, just another day in radioland

Wonder what Citadel would think??

And yet.......

Across the country in New York, Scott Shannon and Todd Pettengil did the exact same "2 Strangers and A Wedding" promotion on their morning show.....same rules and all (their wedding was first by a few weeks I think), and it's worked out for that couple so far Happy Honeymoon and all, with no plans (yet) to end the marriage.

Go figure........
