Did anybody DX 700 last night?

I set my alarm clock for 1:00 am as per this post... http://www.radio-info.com/mods/board?Post=649203&Board=dx in hopes of catching some interesting DX on 700.

All I got that was of interest was a station playing Central/Latin American music. It was very weak, constantly fading in and out. I managed to hear Costa Rica mentioned during one of several commercial breaks. However, because of very poor reception and my lack of understanding of the Spanish language, I couldn't make out anything else.

I was hoping to hear some country music from Nova Scotia, but to no avail after nearly three hours of careful listening. I suspect that to be because of my dipole's receiving leg is pointed SSW, from which I seem to get slightly better reception.

So, did anybody else take advantage of this rare opportunity last night?

I did.. And I heard some bleedover from 690 in Montreal. But when I turned my radio in just the right position, I was able to hear some VERY VERY weak music that sounded like carribean. But, I couldn't make out anything else.

All I heard here in central Ohio, about 85 miles from WLW's tower, was occasional slop from WOR. Nothing itself on 700, but then again I never hear anything on 690. I guess I'm just too close to Cincinnati to have anything else encroach into this region on 700.

In Cincinnati, it sounded like 2 very weak stations fighting it out and one was playing music. Could not make anything out though. WOR occasionally splashed onto 700. I fell asleep with the radio set to 700, and early this morning, I was startled awake with a booming voice announcing: "WLW Cincinnati."

Didn't hear a thing in the Dayton area. They signed off with this story about the WLW signal interfering with hippo reproduction and having to sign off for a few hours because of that, but the board op goofed and left the feed up for the American Trucker Radio Network, so you heard Bubba Bo start the second hour over the promo, and the carrier cut off.

Several years ago the 700 in Alabama ran a test while WLW was off and I heard that.

Also did not note any IBOC hash today on WLW..in fact WTVN in Columbus's IBOC was off.

Haven't heard any IBOC on 700 here in Columbus today, nor on 610. Sounds nice. I'll enjoy it while I can!
