What about the people in Tuscaloosa?

We can't pick up 94.5.

None of this makes any sense. Why would they eliminate that Tuscaloosa market?

There's citadel stations here, will they broadcast on one of them?
 
Perhaps they will start broadcasting 94.5 in mono, like they currently do on 100.5. That will help their signal in Tuscaloosa tremendously.
 
I hope you are right. It makes zero sense to completely eliminate the Crimson Tide market.

If they do, then that's quite possibly the worst business move I've ever seen.

JOX is played all day in local restaurants and the strip here in Tuscaloosa. Everyone here listens.

This just don't make any sense at all.

I have emails out to Ryan Haney and Lance Taylor (who I know personally) to find out what is going on.

HOpefully they can have some kind of influence.
 
Dr. G... I'm confused as to whether you're lamenting the perceived lack of Tide radio sports coverage in Tuscaloosa or are just a big JOX fan. Tuscaloosa (Arb #234) not only has a fulltime all-sports station, but several local stations airing Tide programming; the Birmingham signals (Arb #57) that spill over into Tuscaloosa are gravy. Birmingham certainly has more Tide fans in its metro than Tuscaloosa. It's a business; Citadel-Birmingham is interested in super-serving its Birmingham "customers" with the best JOX signal it can provide.

And oh, by the way... isn't JOX the Auburn Tigers football affiliate? ;)

Citadel owns other stations in Tuscaloosa. And like Navig8tor mentioned, there are other non-Citadel stations there dedicated to sports talk and affiliated with Crimson Tide sports. So unless you really preferred WJOX over the local stations, you aren't losing much.
 
A Google search of WJOX takes you to the 100.5 website, but the liner on Google itself comes up with an automatic JOX 94.5.
Looks like the long awaited final format mystery is solved. It was sooooo tough. Remember, you can only trust RI, not newspapers. :)



All in all, it's a decently thought out plan. Ah, but we finally get to ask this in Birmingham...how will this affect 100?
