Did GE Put It's Foot Down on 30 Rock?

Last season, "30 Rock" had a sorts of comic references to GE as NBC's parent company and humor derived from an industrial company and consumer products manufacturer running a TV network.

This season, no mention of GE. And the "Sheinhardt Wig Company" is mentioned as NBC's owner.

What happened? Did the arrow strike too close to the mark? Did GE's suits get their noses out of joint and clamp down on the show? Does the nation's biggest defense contractor have no sense of humor?

First of all, it's probably a jab at diversification of non-entertainment companies -- for example: Kinney Services, a parking lot and funeral home company, buying Warner Bros.; Gulf + Western, an insurance company, buying Paramount Pictures; and of course, GE, an appliance and defence company, buying NBC (before itself was "bought" by Sheinhardt Wigs).

Secondly, in my opinion, GE practically appreciates the "free advertising", with their logo popping up on occasion.
