Did I get KFI?

About 2 weeks ago I left the Conn. coast near madison CT at 2:00 AM. To keep me occupied i played with the radio. Within the 1st min I clearly ID 830 WCCO. There was Spanish-Carribean music playing on 640 AM. However when I got to New jersey (on I-287) at exactly 5AM I clearly picked up the song "when the bullit hits the bone" which lead into the Art Bell Coast to Coast AM talk show. He started giving out telephone numbers for both east and west of the rockies. After 10 min or so I lost the station never to return. At dawn that day and the next I caught 2 640's but not KFI?
Does anyone know of any other 640 AM stations that broadcast Art bell? Thanks

Here are some of the Coast to Coast stations on 640:
CFMJ out of Toronto runs 50kW, WFNC in Fayetteville, NC, WHLO Akron, OH.

KFI is running a back up tower at 25kW so they are a harad cathc these days.

Darn-I did catch the Akron 640 in PA several hours later right about local sunrise and I got the Akron 640 severa mornings later while in VA around sunrise. Thanks,

Here in Atlanta on WGST-AM 640. That is, if you are somewhere IN Atlanta at around 2-5 a.m. local.

Hard to say what 640 I received at 5:00 AM that day. It probably wasn't KFI. The station faded before I could ID it, back, mostly to Carribean music. I do know I was trying for 820 WBAP Ft. Worth (from near New Haven CT and into New York State) but all I got was the WTOP translator from around Frederick MD which, by itself, is a good catch as it's power is very limited. I finally got 820 Ft. Worth near lexington VA which was surprising as I was much closer to frederick MD than in CT. Ah the vagarities of radio. But thanks for your post.

Another California question here... I finally got my first confirmed Californian here in St. Paul, and wouldn't you know, it was on a regional channel (!!) On 1360, I heard an advertisement for a chain of car dealerships offering the best deals in Southern California, as well as a mention of a particular location in Oxnard. Unfortunately, R-L shows that none of the three 1360 signals in California put much coverage anywhere near Oxnard, and none of the other dealership locations listed on the group's Web site (www.dchauto.com) appeared to be within any of the 1360s' coverage either.

I did check out R-L's listings for CT, NY, and NJ (the three other states where DCH does business), in case they were doing some kind of semi-national ad, but none of these stations seemed to have directional lobes toward me (although one did have a 5000-watt night auth, the most of any station I checked out.) As far as the California signals, I've excluded the Ridgecrest station because its night auth is 31W omni, which leaves me with 950- and 1000-watt stations in San Diego and Modesto. The Modesto station's lobe points much more directly at me than the San Diego one does (though the latter is still in my general direction), but it's got a huge mountain range right behind it... so I'm kind of torn as to which station this was. Anyone out there happen to have a serendipitous connection with this station or account, and know which station this was? ;D
