Did Jack get jocks yet?

The BOB fm station here in spokane sounds kinda like Jack does. Still don't get why they switched from rap to this though, now 92.9 is taking the game.
My friend told me the jack station is getting good numbers but I haven't seen them reflected on here. I miss KNDD, the closest thing here is 94/5 rock, which doesn't even come close to the end or KISW for that matter.

Hope all is well is the Puget sound. Life is different over here, nice and hazy. Getting paid well in the cake hole filling business.

Bob in Spokane and Jack sound NOTHING alike...

Bob & Jack

"Bob in Spokane and Jack sound NOTHING alike..."

I don't completely agree with that....they sound similar---musically. But Jack's imaging guy sounds light years better than Bob's. Jack is using the same image voice I heard in L.A. Bob's inane drops are annoying and make me want to tune out the station--when I do sample it. BOB will NEVER play two songs back to back without some drop plugged in. At least Jack-FM(Seattle) will seg a couple of songs back to back with no talk at all......makes it fairly listenable.

Both Jack and Bob had decent spring books---and did well 25-54--now the ? is---will that trend continue?? The one thing I do like about both Jack and Bob is they do play songs that most programmers say "don't test well"---I feel the reason why they don't tell well----they are never played and I'd say if a song is never played it probably won't test well.

It is nice to hear some of the great Richard Marx and Jon Secada hits that seem to have been forgotten by A/C, Hot A/C and obviously CHR. I love hearing "Should Have Known Better," "Endless Summer Nights," "Satisfied," and "Don't Mean Nothing." Plus "I'm Free," "Just Another Day," "Do You Believe In Us" and "If You Go." Those are great pieces of music that most radio stations have forgotten. Makes you wonder why. Perhaps IF Jack and Bob continue to do well # wise then perhaps A/C and Hot A/C will once again take a look an expanding those ever-tight playlists once again and have a little fun. Other groups I personally miss---"Kool & The Gang," "Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine," "Level 42," "Boy Meets Girl," "Everything But The Girl," "Wilson Phillips," and I heard "Valerie" by Steve Winwood the other day----superb piece of music. Now---am I really off base wanting to hear those legitimate hits?

Love to hear some feedback from other readers..

Jon Secada? Richard Marx? WILSON PHILLIPS?!?!?!

Oh please, JJ. It was hard enough playing that dreck when it was new. Somehow I don't think the masses are clamoring to hear "Hold On" one more time...

Re: Bob & Jack

I agree with J.J. I listen to Jack quite a bit and hope to tune in to the new stuff. It would be cool if they played albumn tracks that were overlooked when the albumn came out. I avoid the songs that KZOK plays ad nauseum. JACK itself may become ad nauseum in two years, but for now the morning drive is an improvement over what they used to have.

Granted we're talking about JACK-FM, but I also think since KJR-FM bills itself as "Rock & Roll's greatest hits", how about adding a couple of Richard Marx's tunes onto the playlist? Or a little Def Leppard? Rock & Roll's greatest hits from the 60's, 70's, 80's, & perhaps the 90's(Pearl Jam & Nirvana, anyone?) Just my $2.00 worth(inflation's such a pain, isn't?)<P ID="signature">______________

I think that Bob was really unnecessary in a city that already had too much ac/hot ac to begin with.

All this talk of BOB's and JACK's in the radio business these days. I guess if you can't beat them you have to join them.

To that end I am preparing to launch a new talk format and calling it FRANK, and on FRANK you will get Frank & Honest Discussions about all the crap we feel like talking about.
