Did John Mayer Make It To The R&R Alternative Charts?

I hear many Canadian mainstream rock stations play John Mayer's "Bigger Than My Body." 89X in Detroit/Windsor plays "Your Body Is A Wonderland." Such AAA artists such as Maroon 5, Sarah McLachlan & Sheryl Crow were on the alternative charts back then. Fewer Canadian mainstream rock stations play Sheryl Crow, though.

No. John Mayer was never on alternative. But I do remembered about two or three years ago when KCNL/San Francisco played tracks from John Mayer and also Maroon 5. KQRX/Midland, TX played Maroon 5 and even tracks from pop/rock singers such as Gavin DeGraw. I heard Matchbox 20 once on WGRD/Grand Rapids. I do like it better when alternative stations play some of the softer alternative bands to take a break from the harder bands such as System Of A Down, Nine Inch Nails, and especially Mudvayne.<P ID="signature">______________

Gavin DeGraw was neither on AAA, nor alternative, just hot AC & CHR. Matchbox 20 was a past alternative artist, same with Counting Crows. Nowadays, alternative rock sounds more AOR-heavy today.

John Mayer was on 92.7 The World Famous LIR in Garden City a few years back.

But that was when they were having an identity crisis. During their last months on the 92.7 frequency, they were playing everything from John Mayer and Sheryl Crow to Madonna and Norah Jones. They were the furthest thing from Alternative - they were closer to a Rhythmic / Hot AC hybrid. They sounded terrible. They certainly didn't go down in a blaze of glory on 92.7, that's for sure.</P>
