did KTAR ever reconsider Hendrie?

The Great Depression was the era of light-hearted comedies and musicals. The very last thing audiences wanted to be reminded of was MONEY. They wanted escape.

Did this very rudimentary level of social insight elude the suits at Bonneville? "Yeah, people losing their homes, losing their jobs...well, why WOULDN'T they want to be reminded of that every night?" I mean, seriously...is that what was going through their heads?

Am I wrong in wondering why KTAR hasn't reconsidered Hendrie? It seems like a no-brainer. Once the economy gets better, I'm even-more pretty sure people won't want to be reminded of that every night. IIRC, KFYI added Savage after KTAR dropped Hendrie.

I heard Dave Ramsay's seminar did very well here. Maybe people are looking to him to teach them how to bail themselves out. I'm not one of them, though. I miss Joe Crummey.

While I am first on the "Dave Ramsey show is for ignorant hillbillies and white trash" wagon, Hendrie, on the other hand, is a miserable shell of what he once was.

Phil has screwed over even his most diehard fans. When he first syndicated (and when he was on KFI), he was brilliant, he had great writers and really cared about putting on a great show. Now, he is just a hack, his anger at being relegated to a handful of meaningless stations, his complete screwing of the fans that kept and shared his great old bits, ones that Phil was to lazy to put on his pay per listen site, and the loss of his desire to do a good show, make Phil a has been.

Get rid of both, its garbage radio, Ramsey should be 10 am Sunday radio.

Come on KTAR, you were starting to do good (even though you hypocritically hired Crummey after trashing him), give us a local host that isn't a moron.

Actually KFWhyEye was first to air Hendrie in Phoenix. Didn't play well with their listeners, so the cast of thousands was sent to brother station, KGME. Didn't make sense there either. TMISU picked up Hendrie after he backed off all the fake callers and guests and started to do topics. When that bombed, Hendrie did a 180 and brought back Bobbie Dooley, Bud Dickman, Ted Bell and others. Made even less sense for KT'R, who wisely picked up the displayed Dave Ramsey show and the rest is his-twah. Hendrie now entertains the East Valley on KBSZ - a station with a signal more in the ozone than Phil himself. Ramsey is so unpopular on KT'R they run him six hours every night and sell out the venue when he comes to town. Figures ::)
