Did Mike Brown "Buy WLW Radio " ?
Just like Mike Brown ( Bengals ) You can put a product
on the radio ( that sucks ) and still make money !
WLW radio home of some great radio people aka Rich
King , Jockey Joe, BurBank, and JFPO just to name a
few; has dumbed down the air sound for years ; but this
latest attemp to bring hipness to the Grand Old Lady of
Broadcasting has fallen short !
WLW has reduced its 50,000 watt signal to the quality of
a 500 watt station in Po-dunk, Tn. It would be hard enough
to fill afternoons with these call letters; but what they have
done is laughable. Not laughable as in Comedy Talent !
Eddie Fingers stopped being funny way back in WEBN ''''
history. What carried him on EBN was the music and some
misfits ( wildman & other freaks ) that appealed to the brain
dead, and the people who thought they were real cool.
WEBN stopped being real cool after about 1974. What Clear
Channel has done is match a very limited radio person with
a no talent Puker aka Tracey Jones . One mans opinion !
Jones is pathetic on the air ! Both these guys have taken
WLW radio to a new low in the industry. Parks should be
proud of what he has put on the air; but just like Brown ;
you can put crap on the field and still make a buck.
WLW is now pretty much a joke in the industry among the
professional Broadcasters that have a signal and character
of what went on before. WLW has dumbed down the quality
of their programming. They can not hold a candle to stations
like WJR , WBZ , WLS, WBBM, and the list could go on; even
WTVN in Columbus sounds more professional !
WLW's call letters used to mean something; but no more in
my opinion. You could put Chris Henry on the air and have
him say the F word every half hour and get ratings I guess !
If the Fcc would allow it !
Eddie and Tracey could not get a job on little WMOH in
Hamilton... The "voice quality" of both these amatures is
lack-luster at best. They sound like two little kids on a CB
radio pirate station out of their basement in NorthSide.
