I was offline over the weekend and did not get a chance to respond to my own question before you closed the thread.
First of all, thank you for taking time to respond. So if I read this right my sin was complimenting CPB for being upfront about their funding requests as opposed to the backdoor strategies employed by certain other Federal agencies? Seems pretty picky, but if that's the way you feel about it, okay. Thanks for pointing it out.
My position is that CPB has outlived it's usefulness and is something we can simply no longer afford with the country trillions of dollars in debt. That is not a popular position here, I understand and respect that. But my opinion is shared by many others across the country, and if you are going to bar discussion of it you may as well ban any discussion of public broadcasting in general. Any discussion of one Federal agency is invariably going to invite comparisons to others.
I reviewed my posts and it seems the other thing that you might have deemed "political" was a post I made where I said that Donald Trump was not, in fact, Hitler. I thought that was a fairly straightforward observation and not particularly political. I was responding to another poster who implied that he was Hitler. I was not making any statement for or against Trump there, merely pointing out that he wasn't Hitler. Even in responses to my question people were engaging in hyperbolic statements about Trump which, if you are going to be consistent, should earn them five for fighting. You cannot have discussions about a Federally regulated industry without the President of the United States entering the discussion at some point.
I think you will find that if you state the rules clearly and unambiguously people are going to have a much easier time following them.
Thank you again for providing some clarity.
