Did Paul Marshall leave Waaf?

> Did he leave by choice? Where did he go?

He did not leave WAAF by choice, but he's getting involved at WBCN.

Go to the next menu page of this board, there was a huge thread about it all a few days ago.

Is that so?

I'm surprised.

He was always very high on Entercom and how they treated him.

Has he posted the whole story behind his leaving? If so, I missed it.

I lost track of that thread as it went off-topic shortly after it was started.
.

> Did he leave by choice? Where did he go?

I'm no longer with WAAF. It wasn't my choice.

I'm working for WBCN now, and pursuing any full time opportunities. I'd like nothing more than to stay in Boston. But, we have to see if that's possible.

Thanks for asking. I appreciate it.

> Is that so?

Yep.

> I'm surprised.

Imagine my surprise when I found out.

> He was always very high on Entercom and how they treated

I worked for Entercom for 5 years. Up until last Thursday, I'd no complaints whatsoever. I was always treated fairly, and was happy to go to work every day.

There's no story to post. I was called in and told they were "making a change". That's it. I was told something about numbers not being there. It's a typical dismissal. I wish them the best of luck, and for the time being am working for WBCN. I hope to be able to stay at "The Rock Of Boston" for a long time. We'll see.

I'll say this...That entire building really made me feel welcome during a very hard time. From the GM, to people whose names I don't remember because it was such a blur. WBCN exhibited something I've never experienced in all the years I've done this. It was very cool. They didn't have to. I'm blown away by it.

I will truly miss my friends at Entercom. Although I'm disappointed in their decision, I can't say I didn't enjoy the 5 years I worked for the company. KRXQ in Sacramento was amazing. WAAF was a great time. I'm happy to have been a part of both stations. But now...we move forward.

I want to say thanks to all of you who've e-mailed me and expressed support. It's been overwhelming to say the least.

I'll be around.

Paul

I remember you when you worked at WMFS in Memphis. You were one of my favorites. I don't live in the Boston area, so I can't hear you now. But I sure miss the good ole Solid Rock before they flipped. Good luck at BCN and Infinity.

You'll do great no mater where you land. Good luck at BCN or wherever your butt ends up sitting!

To many of us WAAF is a distorted signal that is - appropriately -
a Worcester station, and not part of our day.

Maybe this news is upsetting to those West of Boston, but outside of this board, the fact that a jock was let go isn't earth shattering.
Did Clea Simon do a story yet? Just a blurb on Mark Schneider's column - and who has replaced Dean Johnson at The Herald? Have they noticed this? Much ado about Worcester business.

Paul, you sound great on the radio and best of luck to you, even though I've heard you say you prefer Severin to Howie :D I'm impressed at the level of professionalism with which you've handled yourself and the WAAF situation. I for one am jealous that you got to see Mistress Carrie on a regular basis!

Wow...they did it "over the phone"? That's nice of them, huh?

Yeah, but as with a typical dismissal, you must have some thoughts rumbling below the surface....no?

Want to speculate on the "why"?

Well, conghrats on landing *something* so quickly.

It must say something about you, your professionalism and good reputation.

Referring to the "BCN Building"?

Still think it's a good company?

I think I speak for everyone here who wishes you well!

Well that's awfully nice of you to sum it all up.

Thanks for straightening it all out for us.

You're very kind hearted.

BTW..Where are you that WAAF has a "distorted" signal?

> BTW..Where are you that WAAF has a "distorted" signal?

I don't know about distorted, but within about five miles of downtown Boston it's pretty well cut up by intermod interference from the stations on the Pru, and within a couple of miles of FM-128 at the Newton/Needham line, it's cut up by interference from that tower.

Paul sorry to hear they let you go. I am a big fan of yours what is your time slot at BCN? You all ways made me laugh and the connection that you and carrie had was amazing when I was able to liten at that time slot. Now I get to listen to Carrie more which is a BIG bounus although it did come at a price of you leaving. I wish you the best of luck at the New England Patriots Rock radio. LMAO that must be killing you.

PS The Raiders aren't going anywhere....I don't think the Pats are going to go to far either but they are in better shape then the Raiders.
