Did Smooth Jazz Ever Play St. Germain?

I discovered a very enjoyable song called "Sure Thing" by St. Germain on an internet station (Bay Smooth Jazz on 1.fm, great station btw). Anyway I was wondering back when there was a format called smooth jazz was this an artist that was ever played? Or was he considered too edgy for the format?

Commercial SJ stations by BA do not play St. Germain or any Chill music. Lots of the online stations do include Chill in their playlist. My station, WBWH, plays a few Chill music tracks every couple hours - but most commercial ones did not and still don't. In my opinion, its something that the commercial stations should be playing. One time I did hear it though was on WLOQ near their end when they were Smooth AC. The only other way you'd hear it on a BA station is on the weekly syndicated "Chill with Mindi Abair" radio show (great program) that a lot of their stations carry on the weekends. By the way, "Sure Thing" is a great song!

St Germain was played on Commercial Smooth Jazz stations. Keep in mind a lot of artists appear on the St Germain project. St Germain kind of like Cafe Del Mar projects. Watercolors also plays them as well.

I must like this entire genre. On several different internet jazz/new age stations I will like a song, look it up and discover it's from one of the Cafe Del Mar albums.

Give Chilltrax.com a shot. And if I recall correctly, 3 tracks off of St Germain Tourist received commercial play.
