Did SoJo ditch HD?

Haven't been able to get even a trace of HD on WSJO today. Usually WSJO and WJRZ are the only two HD stations I can reliably receive here in Southern Ocean County.

Nope ... air conditioner failure on Friday, repaired today, waiting for the room to cool down
so the HD exciter can be rebooted ... it was about 115 in there when it was 105 outside.

Does anybody care that SoJo 104.9 isn't in HD? There isn't any HD2 station, and it sounds better in analog. Millennium could certainly use the extra money saved on the electric bill given its financial situation.

Wonder why Millennium's cash cow, NJ 101.5, isn't in HD. Or why NJ 101.5 isn't simulcasted on 104.9-HD2. And I hope it stays that way because I like getting KC101.3 and 101.7 The Beach or Kiss 101.7.

While I do think that WSJO should put something on HD2 and HD3, I disagree that it sounds better in analog - I think the processing on the HD signal is "cleaner" and has more of a "dynamic" sound.

Also, while I agree as a DXer that the HD signal does create interference on the adjacent channels, I doubt that anyone within WSJO's HD coverage area was ever trying to hear anything on 104.7 or 105.1 (even pre-HD).

Tom, how much HD power are you guys running now? I've had WSJO locking as far north as Exit 77 in the car!

It's at the original power level, we would need a new transmitter to go higher.
HD didn't increase the electric bill by the way.

I can't get 94.3 The Point in HD and I used to be able to get it in HD all the time with my antenna pointed towards Asbury Park.

Maybe Townsquare sees that there's no value in HD radio. But 94.3 in HD does have some value: it stops people from listening to 94.5 PST or 94.1 WYSP.

Shore Alternative was pulled months ago, then they decided to simulcast 105.7 The Hawk and lasted for about a month I believe...so it's been off for a while now.
