The question is... are they going to REALLY LET THIS NEW P.D. doing anything. Or are they going to play the same old crap? That station needs to go active rock. Simple as that and they need to jump all over the local music scene. I could turn that damn station around in 1 year's time.

Yes, I know thats pretty damn cocky of me. However, I know its true.

Active Rock? Most of what an Active Rock plays from a current perspective, is already on KDGE. There is no classic rock in Dallas.

Where's the open hole? That's IT.

Maybe from a current perspective....However, there is alot that is not getting played and that is where your hole is. You could mix in classic cuts...Led, Floyd etc... and still kill THE EDGE. I know that I made a pretty damn cocky statement earlier. However, I am just sick and tired of seeing these JAG-OFF'S getting P.D. gigs and they dont know crap! It's like a VIRUS in our industry.

Channing,
you answered your own question!!!...you gorgeous woman, you!! (Still in Tulsa??)

Hey ya sweets! Back in Dallas now for the past three weeks. :) Going back to school next week, will have my BA in Business in roughly 2 years. I just was trolling All Access yesterday and saw the PD gig at The Bone found it interesting and thought I'd share. :) As for the Active Rock angle.....PLEASE someone bring back The Eagle! :)

Agreed. That is the open market space. A format that supports "everything that rocks" leaning active is missing. That may not be the direction for KDBN but I think we'll see something like that or an alternative outlet appear in the near future. I wouldn't be at all suprised if CBS went that direction.

Odds are they won't go active rock because of simple economics. Classic rock draws much more of the 25-54 then active does. And it's much easier to sell 25-54 than 18-34.

So you can make more money.

Oddsare you could get worse overall (12+) ratings and make more revenue with classic rock than with active rock.

If you don't believe me, remember a little station called the Oasis and Moving? A little bird tells me that that exact scenario is playing out there. That the 12+ ratings are worse for Moving than Oasis, but their making more money because it's a sell-able demo...

Except for morning and after noon drive..The Bone paysonly an hourly wage of...$10.00. Ten bucks !! Market 5 and they pay ten bucks an hour! Small wonder they dont do well over all.
