Did The Deal Not Go Down???

I'm getting the impression that, perhaps, KULP in El Campo is not going to purchase the 96.1 frequency assigned/licensed to Edna after all. Anyone have any information?

They was testing it a while back, or someone was. I thought maybe they could simulcast KULP. If they did buy it.

In this particular scenario, the simulcast route would have been their best bet. They do a very good job serving their community/communities...and the addition of the FM would only help to make the situation a whole lot better for everyone involved (the station, the listeners, and the advertisers).

The word now is that they plan to go on the air in January and NOT simulcast with KULP.

Looks like Buckalew got an antiquated transmitter in the deal. Yes, they were testing it recently but apparently the thing got fried and they've ordered a new one. That's according to the explanation on their silent STA request: http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws...xt=25&appn=101275331&formid=910&fac_num=27226

Really? I'd think that polkas and the Trading Post would fit pretty well on FM, and Friday night football, too. Whatever their plans, this should be interesting. And needless to say it's bound to better than it was (ahem...) whenever it was actually on the air!
