Did WBUZ go active rock?

Looking at WBUZ's playlist, I saw where they were playing Ozzy, AC/DC, and Guns N Roses. They weren't playing any of the good modern rock that they sometimes play (Beck, White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand). Just wondering if they had made a format adjustment.

According to allaccess...yes!

CROMWELL Alternative WBUZ (102.9 THE BUZZ)/NASHVILLE flipped to Active Rock as "102.9 THE BUZZ ROCKS" at 5p on THURSDAY (9/22) under PD/MD RUSS SCHENCK.

How are G-n-R considered active rock? I am not in the business, honest question.

Does that leave WRLT as the only commercial station playing the likes of Beck and the White Stripes?

Thanks

All in all, not a bad move for 102.9. Gee, now Cumulus could try Alternative on 106.7.

If 106.7 went alternative, they wouldn't have to do much before they'd own the alternative market. WRLT played out a long time ago.

Alright! Finally some decent classic hard rock on the radio again. 105.9 doesn't play anything harder than Skynryd, and 102.9 didn't play anything that wasn't "modern". I'll admit I like Franz Ferdinand, White Stripes, etc., but most of the time they played the whiny hardcore stuff I can't stand.

I had "102.9 The Buzz Rocks" on last night and it sounded pretty good actually. But then when I got in my car this morning and the radio was still on 102.9, I hear Tears For Fears! I can't believe they are still doing the "Retro Buzz" show. Can we say "train wreck"?

The Buzz was active rock months ago. You just haven't been paying attention.
Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, etc... (duh)

You're exactly right. I pay no attention to the Buzz whatsoever. And won't now. Never will, until they either "get it" or sell.

Scan on, it'll never change. How do they keep on making ZERO?
Or less? Lot's less.

Even though 102.9 the Buzz has officially changed their "format" to Active Rock, they sound no different musically than they did a year ago. Even when they refered to themselves as "New" Rock, a majority of the tracks they played had a much harder edge than most "Alternative" stations played.
