did wimz play alices restaraunt this year?

it used to be a thanksgiven day tradition to play the song alices restaraunt on wimz every year. just wondering.

I don't know about WIMZ But WQUT plays it every year on Thanksgiving, usually two or three times. I think each jock gets to play it at some point on his/her shift. A great tradition. I was on my way home from my mom's in N.C. last night and heard Harley Miles playing it. Me and the young'un sang along at the appropriate times.

On Sirius satellite radio, "The Vault" (channel 16) always plays "Alice's Restaurant" non-stop, all day long every Thanksgiving. So I got to enjoy it several times yesterday.

i guess it was 101.5 QUT that used to play alices restaraunt. when i lived in town (i live in manchester kentucky), i used to pick up 101.5 almost full quieting. but now i live north of town, and they are a lot of hills around me. cant get 103.5 wimz any more either, but could when i lived on top of the hill years ago. thinking of putting up a outside fm broadcast band radio, and a pre-amp to try to pull these in.

You are right, WIMZ has played Alices Restaurant for the past 26 years. They did play it again this year around 12:00. They also played it again Thanksgiving night at 6:00 p.m. So, they've kept the tradition alive. I used to love to listen to Phil Williams the day after Thanksgiving - the morning that all the maniacs get out and bust the doors down on the stores to get the latest bargains. He'd always do something crazy. One year, he done the morning show live from East Town Mall (Knoxville Center now) and was stopping shoppers to look in thier bags, interview some of them, and stuff like that.
