Did WNIC make a big mistake?

As pretty much everyone knows, WNIC flipped from mainstream AC to Hot AC (with its new moniker "Fresh 100.3") at the beginning of 2011. I wonder if they are now starting to realize they'd made a big mistake. I heard that they're now adding more songs like Phil Collins' "Against All Odds" back into the mix. "Against All Odds" is definitely not Hot AC material.

I bet Magic 105.1 has been enjoying a boost in ratings since heritage station WNIC tinkered with its format.

They never stopped playing that. 4x last week, 2x this week.

They still lead in cume and the new format hasn't seemed to help their AQH. CHR and Hot AC is oversaturated in Detroit right now. By giving up being a traditional AC they gave WMGC a monopoly.

Yes, they made a mistake but it isn't too late to reverse course.
