DIFFERENT song, SAME title!

Tonight Tonight was Mello Kings song title. Has anybody mentioned another Tonight song by the Velvets, a Texas group I think, title was of course, Tonight.

Tonight--Ferrante & Teicher
Tonight--Mellowkings

Isn't the latter actually "Tonight, Tonight"?

cd

That would make it a DS/ST with Phil Collins' song, no? Or is that one "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight"?

Credited to the band "Genesis", yes it's TonightX3.

Different spelling but there's "Tonite" by April Wine

Not sure if this has been mentioned either (43 pages, no way, not enough time), but:

Jesse -- Carly Simon
Jesse -- Roberta Flack

I heard the Flack song on an AT40 countdown on Sirius XM yesterday for the first time in 39 years.

When Rick Springfield came out with "Jesse's Girl" in 1981, I used to joke that "Jesse's girl" was Carly Simon! ;D

There was at least one more "Jesse," this one by Julian Lennon which became a minor hit for him in 1985.

Tonight, Tonight Tonight and Tonight Tonight Tonight were mentioned. How about these four:

Shame - Evelyn "Champagne" King
Shame Shame - Magic Lanterns
Shame Shame Shame - Shirley & Co.
Shame Shame Shame Shame - Mark Collie

Did all four make the Hot 100? If so, the word "Shame" would have to hold the record!

Was this title mentioned?

Sweet Surrender - Bread
Sweet Surrender - John Denver

(both made top 15, but both have been forgotten, especially JD's)

Let's go. No, I don't mean let's go---I mean Let's Go, the song title. Ray Charles recorded a song with that title for his 1961 Genius + Soul = Jazz album. In 1962 the Routers had a #19 hit with an instrumental titled Let's Go (and punctuated by a few shouts of those two words). In 1979, the Cars had a #14 hit with the same title. Rancid, Eurythmics and Lil Wayne also did songs titled Let's Go.

Jerry G Bishop was popular DJ in Chicago at WCFL. He also hosted movies on channel 32, where he was known as Svengoolie. Until format change he was on KPOP, out of San Diego until market forces forced change from great Adult Standards format.

So, was it the thrill on the hill, referenced in Hank Ballard's Let's Go, Let's Go, Let's Go, that all these folks were going to?
