DIFFERENT song, SAME title!

Probably not enough to have a separate thread on, but how about bands/singers with the same name as another band or singer? Only one that comes to mind right now is:
Sweet Sensation (Sad Sweet Dreamer) and
Sweet Sensation Sincerely Yours

Or artist with same name as someone else's hit:

ABC -- Jackson 5
When Smokey Sings -- ABC

Cars -- Gary Numan
Drive -- Cars

Rhythm of Love-Yes
Rhythm of Love- The Scorpions
Rhythm of Love-Plain White T's

Fire-Jimi Hendrix
Fire-Arthur Brown
Fire-The Pointer Sisters

"Don't Leave Me This Way," Thelma Houston
"Don't Leave Me This Way," Sheena Easton

"1-2-3," Len Barry
"1-2-3," Gloria Estefan

"I Can't Wait," Stevie Nicks
"I Can't Wait," Nu Shooz

And while not exactly the same, but certainly worthy of a mention:
"Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five," Paul McCartney & Wings
"1985," Bowling for Soup

^^^

What's interesting is that both versions of "I Can't Wait" ran at the same time.

Another song in that situation, IIRC, was the title "Crazy Love" (Poco/Allman Bros.) whose separate songs ran at the same time.

You are correct about the two "I Can't Waits," and good catch on the two "Crazy Loves" as well.

Two more:

"Fly Like an Eagle," Steve Miller Band
"Fly Like an Eagle," Marshall Tucker Band

Speaking of the MTB:
Fire on the Mountain -- Marshall Tucker Band
Fire on the Mountain -- Grateful Dead

Wikipedia also notes a Hanson tune with the same name. I've never heard it, but I assume it's neither the Tucker or the Dead song.

Interesting backstory on the Marshall Tucker Band "Fire on the Mountain." The guys in the MTB had heard that their fellow southern rockers, the Charlie Daniels Band, were working on an album to be called Fire on the Mountain. So they wrote and submitted their song "Fire on the Mountain" to the CDB. The CDB didn't use it, so MTB recorded it themselves, and put it on their own album, which they called Searchin' for a Rainbow. So you have one southern rock band with an album called Fire on the Mountain, and another with a song by that name. And I believe both were released during the 1974-75 time frame. Confusing enough, yet? ;D

"Sweet Lorraine" - Nat "King" Cole
"Sweet Lorraine" - Uriah Heep

Somewhere Out There - The Righteous Brothers
Somewhere Out There - Linda Ronstadt & James Ingram
